Knees (a get well to Art Meyer) you support me bending to my demands carrying me farther than you would like and now I guess it has been far enough those hills too foolish and long those roads a bit gravelled and hard well then forgive me I'll wait while you mend and meditate but don't forget your place my friends I've got more miles to run and ruminate women to chase and philosophy to support grandchildren to lift to the sun we'll slow down one day soon enough but not just yet not today or tomorrow or next year's race be a bit flexible with my stubborn ways I'm still racing time you see and it knows no such humility © Chuck Beals 2001
