Canada Geese and other travelers
 
 We sped by the cold October field
 100 visitors rested there
 planning migrations
 we could only imagine
 
 later that day they would gather again
 a warm pond in Canterbury
 thistle seeded fields
 would welcome them
 
 we drove ahead
 to work, to errands, to repetition
 keeping a resistant line-up
 hoping for feed
 
 on a cold November morning
 perhaps we'll remember
 their flying formation
 a sign of victory
 and peace
