A quick note about this page, a lot of you know me as Chris Vernon. All of my family and friends who have known me for a long time call me by my middle name, Jeremy. For those of you who have visited my page before I am really changing stuff around as of June of 2002. I have been really bad about keeping up for quite a while. We have two Kia Sportages in my family. I am not fanatical about this vehicle, but for the money it really kicks ass. It is a great basic vehicle, nothing fancy. It will get you there and back on or off the road and surprisingly it is quite fun to drive. We have a white 2000 four door and a red 1999 two door. Both are manual transmissions with four wheel drive and have the same options. Early this year we took all of the modifications off of the four door and moved them to the two door. We use the two door on most of our four wheeling trips. I am currently wheeling with a group called Trailseekers. I like this group because they are open to all types of vehicles and are familiar with having parts fabricated, since a lot of the newer vehicles like the Kia Sportage have very little aftermarket. After a recent trip to Moab, Utah my girlfriend has stated that she would like the four door to be more trail capable as long as she could keep it "girly". This is awesome because now if we have people come and visit we will be able to take a bunch of people somewhere they would never go. I am also the moderator of the Kia forum over on 4x4wire.com. The guys at the wire have been really great to set up a Kia only area that provides us the opportunity to discuss our vehicles. Please check it out: Kia Forum I hope you enjoy this page and if you have any questions please e-mail me at [email protected]. |
