Gore Fanstasy
Cycling - Tour de France Fantasy League
Official Rules for 2009
- Each
contestant will draft individual riders to make up a team of 9 total
riders.
- Draft
order will be determined by a random draw.
Even numbered rounds will be conducted in reverse order (wrap
around style).
- Each
rider will be available multiple times depending on the total number of
contestants as follows:
- 6 or
less contestants – each rider available once
- 7 to
12 contestants – each rider available twice
- 13
or more contestants – each rider available three times
- A
rider remains eligible to be added to a contestant’s roster as long as
they were not taken the maximum allowed number of times (see waiver rules
below).
- A
contest may not draft the same rider more than once.
- Points
are awarded for each stage and the final overall General Standing
according to Table 1.
- Points
are multiplied by a factor such that each stage is equal to roughly 3% of
the final total score and the final General Standing is worth roughly 40%
of the final total score.
- 50
bonus points are awarded each stage to the ride that holds the yellow
jersey at the end of the stage.
- Each
contestant will have 2 “pre-race” and 2 “within-race” waivers which they
can use to drop a current rider from their team and add a new “free agent”
rider.
- The
deadline for pre-race waivers is 8 AM ET, the day of Stage 1 (July 4).
- Within
race waivers may be used pre-race or within race. The deadline for within-race waivers is
8 AM ET the day of Stage 21 (July 26).
- All
waivers are first come first serve.
Waivers requests should be in the form of an email to the
Commissioner (Jeff Rogers) with a copy to all other contestants.
- All
points (current and future) are lost from a rider who was dropped via
waiver.
- All
points (current and future) are gained from a rider added via waiver.
- A
rider abandoning the tour, or otherwise leaving the tour will retain all
stage points and yellow jersey bonus points scored in the race.
- Doping
– Any rider caught doping during the race will lose all points scored during
the stage in which they were caught and any stage thereafter. Other riders will not be “moved up”
positions.
- All
results become final at 8 AM the day following Stage 21 (July 27).
- Standings
will be published (http://www.geocities.com/cjrogers2002/TDF.html)
daily. Anyone not wishing to have
their name published publicly should email the Commissioner indicating
such and provide him an anonymous team name.
- The GC
portion of the daily standings will be pro-rated.
- The
daily contest leader is awarded the “PMRSS Yellow Jersey.” If and when the leader drops from the #1
position, they are responsible for passing on the jersey to the new
leader.
