| TAILPIPE LIGHTING TUTORIAL | ||||||||||||||
| Everybody has there own methods of modifying there car. Though any modifications necessary for the installation of the tailpipe lighting is the responsibility of the user, I will show you how I modified my own tailpipes for lighting. In most cases you will be able to use the same techniques for most of the tailpipes that come with your xmods or their body kits. | ||||||||||||||
| First you will need to choose the tailpipe. You can either use the ones that came with your stock xmod or the ones in the body kit. Follow the same techniques for both pipes if your car has dual pipes. You will want to first remove the pipes from the car. |

| Use a dremel and drill bit to drill a hole through the pipe. It is best to use a fairly small drill bit and then to enlarge the hole, move the drill in a circular motion when inserted into the pipe. | ||||||||||||||
| Here is a view from the back side after drilling. | ||||||||||||||
| You can use a needle file to clean up the pipe or make small inner diameter adjustments. | ||||||||||||||
| If your led does not fit through the rear of the tailpipe, you may need to enlarge the hole with your dremel or file. | ||||||||||||||
| Insert the led into the hole to check the fit. If the led fits loose, use some rubber cement around the outside edge of the led to help secure it in place. Be careful not to get any on the tip of the led. It is best to plug in the wiring onto the leds before applying the rubber cement and placing it in the pipe. You can also permanetly attach the led in the pipe by using super glue. |

| Here you have it. The wires plugged in, the led attached in the pipe using rubber cement. All that is left to do is screw the pipe back onto the body and install the rest of the lighting system. Remember to tape down any excess or loose wiring to prevent them from interfering with any moving parts like the wheels. | ||||||||||||||

| In some cases, the walls of the pipe are really thin, allowing light to shine through the pipe. To help reduce or eliminate this effect, use a small paint brush and some black paint and paint the inside of the pipe. You may need a few coats. | ||||||||||||||
