The Canadian Jacques Maritain
Association

Date of founding: 1979
Purpose: The study of major authors and themes in
philosophy, particularly those found in the work of Jacques Maritain.

for a copy of the current Constitution of the Association.)
Activities: There are two meetings each year. There is a
symposium
on a general theme in philosophy, organized in association with the Congress of the Humanities and the Social
Sciences
and usually held at the beginning of June each year. There is also a
meeting
in the fall of each year, devoted to an aspect of Maritain's work.
Conferences
and symposia take place in French and English.
The Association will next meet
in Ottawa on October
23-24, 2009, on the theme: "Medievals and Moderns: The
Transition from Scholasticism to Modern Philosophy" (For more

in Montreal in late May 2010.
