| Time to head for home |
| Well after 15 months based at YWAM Perth, it is now time to pack the bags and head to the airport. Apologies for the lack of updates on the website and all I can do is try to be better at it next time! Impact World Tour has been amazing and my time here with YWAM has been a time of incredible growth and understanding. As I have rubbed shoulders with people from all imaginable walks of life, I have come accross many different views of God and have realised that many people, indeed many Christians, do not hold the same views as myself when it comes to things such as the role of the Holy Spirit etc. I have realised that there are many theologies and theories out there but very view people have relationship with the Spirit and understand that it is through the power and authority of the Holy Spirit that we as New Testament Christians are meant to be living each and every day of our lives. Of course, when you move away from (or indeed, never get close to) the Holy Spirit, this means that you are living a life without Power. It reminds me of the scripture in 2 Timothy, "having a form of godliness but denying it's power." In other words, you get religion. People say that religion is good, I hate it with a passion. My walk as a Christian has nothing to do with what I do, what I pray, who I share the gospel with, where I go, how I worship or anything like that. My walk as a Christian is purely and simply about relationship. Any "evangelism" that I do is based out of a desire to share with others, the love that I have found, it is not an obligation or imperative order that I MUST follow in order to call myself a Christian. To suggest that evangelism is a command is to miss the whole point of the New Testament. We are given only one command - Love the Lord you God with every ounce of your being and love your neighbour as yourself. On that note, it is truly time to pack the bags and head for the airport. I will be doing the School of the Supernatural at my church (DaySpring) and will commence that once I return to Sydney. Marriage is also just around the corner (finally) in July.
