Kanangra Canyons

KANANGRA MAIN Kanangra is by far one of the most beautiful but difficult areas for canyoning. Classic open canyons span the clifflines in the area. Right is Kanangra Main one of the most difficult. One of its highlights is the abseil next to the 150m waterfall. Not for the beginner, this canyon has already claimed one life. The canyon has 12 abseils all under 60m, the canyoning spaning a horizontal distance of aproximately 300m. So you can imagine just how deep this canyon is. The walk out up Murdering Gully is always pleasant too. Those who have been through this canyon know what I mean.

DIONE DELL Dione Dell is yet another of Kanangra's beautiful canyons. Pictured is Liz on the second abseil. There are four abseils all of 30m unless you go the wet option. You can then rig a 50m from the top of the third abseil. The canyon is met at the end by Margaret Falls, 110m of vertical drop. This canyon can be done in both winter and summer.
