"What is it now?" he asked. Suddenly there was a scream from the bathroom. "Tay!!! What's wrong baby?! Open up!!"
"Daddy! I'm bleeding." yelled a crying Taylor.
"What?!!?" Nick screamed trying to open the door. "Baby did you cut yourself?!!? Tay open the door!!"
By then, Alyssa had come out of her room to see what all the yelling was. "Daddy!! I'm bleeding from my butt!!" Alyssa burst out laughing as Nick got a horrified look on his face.
"Oh dear God..." Nick said shaking his head," Lyss, get in there and talk to her." Alyssa just shook her head.
"Oh no way, I have a date, I'm getting ready, you talk to her."
"A date?!?! What the hell, who said you could go on a date?" Nick yelled.
"Daddy!!!" Taylor yelled again.
"Hang on Tay!!" he said then turning his attention back to Alyssa.
"I said. His name is Beau...and he's really really sweet! You'll love him Daddy," she said smiling.
"Like hell I will," he said. Taylor was still bawling in the bathroom but had unlocked the door by now. Nick walked in and saw her laying on the floor crying.
"Um Tay�honey�okay first, let me say, there's nothing wrong with you, you're alright," he said nervously. Taylor looked up at him confused.
"I am? But I'm bleeding," she said.
"Um yeah I know honey�but see�this is normal�um�" he paused not knowing how to finish. He opened the cupboard door under the sink, and pulled out a box of Alyssa's maxi pads, "Okay honey�um alright see this? Okay you gotta open it up like this and um�stick it in your underwear, alright? Um�I'm gonna go call Uncle Brian and Aunt Leigh quick, so you just do that�I'll be back okay?" Taylor nodded taking the pad from him.
Nick walked out of the room quickly, closing his eyes and shaking his head. He saw Alyssa in her room doing her makeup and rolled his eyes. These are the times he really needed Jen. She had died when Taylor was born. They had all been doing pretty well nowadays, but he had no idea how he was going to handle these new developments.
He found the phone and dialed Brian's number.
"Hello?" he heard Brian say.
"Bri�.I have a huge problem."
"What's wrong Nick?" Brian asked.
"Man....Taylor just...she...well shes...a woman," Nick said.
"Wait, what?!?! What do you mean Nick?" Brian asked confused.
"Ugh....she started her period man!" Nick said exasperated. Brian started laughing.
"Uh oh," Bri said, "Do I need to bring Leigh over?"
"YES! LEIGH WOULD BE NICE!" Nick yelled, "Thank you so much, come right over!!" He then hung up quickly and went back upstairs to find Taylor in her room.
"How ya doin baby? Did you�uh do what I told you?" Taylor nodded. "Okay well um, Aunt Leigh is going to come over and talk to you about what happened, okay?" She nodded again. "Okay�yeah�time to go check on the boy," he said walking toward 13 yr old Jake's room.
Just as Nick was walking to Jake's room, Jake came running out with a horrified look on his face. He ran smack into Nick. "Whoa, buddy, what's wrong?" Jake grabbed his hand and pulled him into his room and dropped his pants.
"DAD WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT?!?!?!"
Nick looked in shock and covered his face. "Oh no, not you too," he said.
"Dad is it broken?! Like is it dead? Because you know dead people get all stiff! Fix it Dad, its like...bugging me!"
"Oh god...um okay Jake...son...alright...shit...where's AJ when you need him?"
Just then, Alyssa came out of the bathroom to go back to her room. She passed Jake's room, where Nick had left teh door wide open. She looked in and said, "Hey guys," and kept walking. Suddenly she jumped back into the doorway. "Oh my God!!!!" she screamed then burst out laughing again, walking back to her room. Nick growled and went downstairs, straight to the phone, dialing AJ's number.
"Come on, pick up�pick up!" he yelled. After 8 rings he slammed the phone down and dialed another number.
"Hello?"
"Howie!! You gotta help me, okay I called AJ but he wasn't home and you're the next best thing so�"
"Whoa, Nick, calm down. AJ's right here, here I'll put ya on speaker phone, "Howie said.
"AJ thank God!! Okay guys, well�Jake�he�um"
"He um�what?" Howie asked.
"He�.he's become a man!" Nick yelled. AJ and Howie looked at each other confused.
"Huh?" they both said.
"He�okay he dragged me into his room and dropped his pants and wants to know what's wrong with little jakey!!!" Nick said hoping they'd catch on.
"Oh my God," Howie said, "Um�J�you can handle this."
"Oh hell yes, that's my boy!" AJ yelled clapping his hands.
"Can you get over here fast???" Nick asked.
"Yeah, we're on our way!" AJ said and they hung up. Nick fell down on the nearby couch and put his head in his hands.
"Daddy!!!" he heard Alyssa yell. He sighed.
"What baby?"
"Have you seen my other black dress shoe?!" she screamed.
"Baby�you have tons of black dress shoe's�how am I supposed to-" he was cut off by Alyssa screaming again.
"God damnet Mikey!!!!"
"Alyssa!!" Nick screamed accusingly.
"I'm sorry Dad, but your�stupid dog ATE MY SHOES!!!" Just then the doorbell rang.
"Saved by the bell�" he said to himself. He opened it to see Leighanne and Brian, "Oh! Leigh, thank you God, she's up in her room."
"Alrighty, don't worry Nick, I got this," Leighanne smiled and went upstairs.
"So man�kinda shocked you huh?" Brian asked.
"Oh Rok you don't know the half of it. It's not just Tay�" he said.
"What do you mean?"
"Dad!!! I need your help man!!!" Jake yelled.
"Well�Jake's�having some problems to." Nick said.
"Oh no�"
"Yeah�AJ's on his way, I figured he could work on this department. But until he gets here, I guess it's just you and me." Nick said beginning to walk up the stairs. Brian walked behind him laughing to himself and shaking his head. They got upstairs and passed Alyssa's room.
"Hey Alys---wow, you look nice, where ya goin?" Brian asked noticing she was wearing a short black spaghetti strap dress. Nick turned around to see Alyssa and started yelling.
"Oh hell no, you are not going to go out like that!"
"Like what?! Daddy don't you think I look pretty???" she asked.
"I think you'd look a lot prettier with some clothes on, sweetheart," he said and walked away toward Jake's room. Brian decided not to say a word.
"How ya doin lil man?" Bri said as they entered Jake's room.
"Dude, Uncle Rok, what's wrong with me man?" Jake asked.
"Nothing's wrong with you son," Nick said, "this is normal�.but um�AJ's gonna be here soon to explain it to you." Just then they heard the doorbell. "That's probably him now!" Nick said running back downstairs with Brian in tow. Nick opened the door to see Kevin.
"Kev, what are you doing here?"
"Ah, Brian! I've been looking for you."
"Hey Nick, how are you Nick? I'm great Kevin, thanks!" Nick said.
"Sorry, how are ya Nick?"
"Terrible, thanks for asking." Brian laughed at him and explained what was going on to Kevin.
"Okay so wait, Taylor got her period, Jake discovered horniness, and Alyssa's going on her first date, and this all happened in the last hour?" Kevin asked. Nick nodded slapping his forehead. Kevin laughed. "I'm sorry man, that has to suck." Then, AJ burst through the door.
"Alright, where's the new man?" he asked. Everyone pointed upstairs. AJ started running up the stairs as Howie walked through the front door. "Yo Jake!! Lil man, we gotsta have a talk!"
"What's everybody doing here?" Howie asked.
"All of Nick's kids are growing up at the same time." Kevin said. Howie looked a bit confused, but figured it out when Alyssa yelled for Nick at the top of the stairs.
"Is Beau here yet?!" she asked excitedly. She was still wearing the little black dress.
"No, and you are not going anywhere!!" Nick yelled.
"Yes, I am!! Guys, tell him I can go on a date! I'm 17 years old damnet!"
"Alyssa!" Nick yelled.
"Well I am!!" she yelled back, stomping back into her room.
"Um hello?" said a voice from outside the front door. Kevin, Howie, Brian, and Nick all turned around to come face to face with a younger version of AJ.
"Who are you?" Nick asked.
"I'm Beau�I'm here to pick up Alyssa.." he said cautiously.
"Well, she's not goi--.." Nick started, but was interrupted by Brian.
"She's not ready yet, come on in here and sit down, son. We should have a talk." Kevin, Nick, and Howie were eyeing him suspiciously but Brian put his arm around the boy and took him to the living room. "I'm her Uncle Brian, by the way, that's her father Nick there, and her Uncle's Howie and Kevin."
"Hi there," Beau said smiling. The three men just looked at him.
"So, Beau�" Brian started, "How old are you?" As Brian and soon the rest of the guys, grilled Beau with questions, Leighanne and Taylor came running down the stairs.
"Bye Daddy! I'm going to get my first tampons and maxi pads!!!" Taylor yelled smiling. Beau got a weird look on his face as Nick and the rest of the guys smiled.
"Alright baby, have fun�" he said. They walked out the door and Nick turned back to Beau.
"So what do your parents do?" Nick asked. Suddenly, AJ came storming down the stairs.
"Nick, man, I need some hand lotion for Jake!!" he yelled. Nicks hand flew to his face.
"Oh dear God�" he mumbled. Beau's face was now full of shock.
"Oh my God, why didn't you tell me he was here?!" Alyssa yelled running down the stairs. Beau stood up quickly, along with the four men. She was still wearing the little black dress.
"Alyssa�you look great, wow, just�yeah you look great." Beau said.
"Alyssa�" Nick warned.
"Don't Dad. Just don't. I'm going on a date with Beau, you probably already know his life story, so you don't have to worry. You trust me right?" she asked.
"Yeah baby, I just�" she stopped him.
"I'll be good, Daddy, I promise, you don't have to worry." She smiled. He smiled back and gave her a hug.
"Alright sweetie�have fun," he said.
"Thanks Daddy! Bye guys!" she said.
"Bye!" they all replied. Soon, the couple was gone and the four men sat in the living room silent.
"Thanks so much guys�.I think we made it through. It should be over now."
"Whoa COOL!!!!!!!!!" they heard Jake yell upstairs. "I want a tattoo too!!!!" Nick's eye's widened.
