Stubby (also known as Stubbino, Mr. Stubbs, Mr. Piggy, and Little Man) was our beloved pet guinea pig. He was a gift to Ian from his Grandpa Mike in early 1997. He was only about three inches long and fit in the palm of our hands, but he was already an insatiable eating machine. Stubby lived a very fulfilling life and went peacefully in his sleep at the age of four. He's very missed.
Satchmo wasn't extremely fond of Stubby, even if Stubby was here first! When Stubby was out of his cage, Satchmo started giving everyone the old frowny face and let us know he was quite displeased. Stubby wasn't afraid of the cat in the least and chattered at him a few times when Satchmo poked at him, but we had to watch the two of them very carefully...Satchmo wasn't above swatting at the guinea pig when he got too close!
