Christmas Break Photos
HOME
All of these photos are from between November and January.  Be sure to scroll all the way down since there are a lot of them!
Amanda, Cammy, Amy, and Mike visited in November from the St. Thomas London Business Semester.
Pete, Amanda, Mike, Greg, and I smoking stoggies on the rooftop terrace.
Hanging out in the Collosseum with Will.
The Roman Forum...the old center of the Roman Empire.
Hangin' at the Collosseum with Will...a friend who visited from MN.
Fun with mistletoe.
Decorating the Bernardi Campus Christmas tree.
Even more fun with mistletoe!
Over Christmas, I was able to head back to MN.  Anne, John, Anne's friend, Greg, and I got together for lunch before Anne and John takeoff for a semeseter in Spain!
After Christmas, my family came to Italy to tour around for 10 days.  This is in Assisi at the church with the bells that miraculously rang all by themselves when St. Francis died.
If you don't know what this is you're crazy!!!
While I was in Venice with my family, I took a side trip to Padua to see the Basilica and tomb of St. Anthony of Padua.  A beautiful church!!!
After Padua, I headed over to Verona to check it out.  This is a typical Veronan Street.
The tower I climbed all the way up in Verona...an excellent view!
The draw-bridge at the ancient castle in Verona.  A neat site to see.
In January, I went to the a church in Rome called Santa Croce.  These are relics that the church has.  Starting from the upper left- the relic of a nail from the cross of Chrst, three pieces from the cross, part of the pillar Christ was scourged at, the finger of doubting Thomas, part of the plaque on the cross, and two thorns from the crown of thorns of Christ.  Words cannot describe...
In January, I also climbed the Holy Stairs.  The stairs were brought to Rome in 400 by St. Helen.  They are the marble stairs from Pilate's home.  It is said that Christ went up and down these steps.  As a sign of reverence, pilgrims (visitors to the church) climb the stairs on their knees in prayer.  Once again, words cannot describe.
