| I graduated with degrees in evolutionary biology and professional writing from the University of Toronto with sights set on a career in science journalism. My writings have appeared in The Medical Post, The Gleaner, YESmag, Cram Science and The Varsity. I have co-authored a peer-reviewed scientific study and have taught biology labs to first-year students. I am a cellist, amateur baroque composer and an avid reader of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Shirley Jackson, Stephen King, John Wyndham, Stephen J. Gould and Maragret Atwood. My scientific interests include the the neurophysiology of addiction and pleasure, pharmacogenetics, epigenetics, population genetics, ecological genetics, evolutionary biology, developmental biology, plant pathology, fungi, allergies, diabetes, psychiatric disorders and pseudoscientific practices. |
