"WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?"

The last verse we just read brings us to another important point, where it says:
"...the Son of God...hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true..."
Left to our natural selves, nobody anywhere, any when will turn to God with saving faith.  For the things, and words of God are foolishness to them that don't believe, because unbelief is one of the greatest of sins!  So why would God give enlightenment and understanding to the greatest of sinners (unbelievers) so that they might believe the truth?  Because He is a gracious, merciful, and compassionate God.

The point is, unless a person comes in HUMILITY before the Lord, and humbly asks Him to give them saving faith in His Son Jesus Christ, they will never see the truth for what it really is, which is; Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life!

Gods Word says all this a whole lot better than me:

PROVERBS 28:5
"
Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things."

MATTHEW 13:14
"And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, 'by hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive'"

But herein is His great grace to us:

ROMANS 15:21
"But as it is writen, 'to whom He was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.'"
I hope this has gone someway to help the reader understand Gods plan of salvation for us, His beloved creations.  I have by no means come any way near a full explanation of the gospel, this is just meant to be a short challenge to the unbeliever to make them seek God further for them selves.

The next best step from here is to get alone with The Lord in prayer, with a Bible.

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
If I have told you eartly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.
