Welcome. I'm glad you've taken the time to visit my new site.

When people need to visit a lawyer, it is often because some calamity has occurred that needs legal fixing. No wonder many people regard a trip to the lawyer's office as roughly equivalent to a trip to the dentist's office (my apologies if you are a dentist) or to the mechanic (my apologies if you are a mechanic).

Many times, however, problems can be made more manageable  -- or even avoided altogether --  by consulting with a lawyer first.  This is especially true for small to medium sized businesses that need agreements with a variety of other parties, or that have to deal with the government in some form or fashion.

In my practice, I try to anticipate legal problems, and if they are reasonably likely to become big problems later, I encourage clients to address those problems up front.  Some people call this approach "preventative law." I enjoy helping my clients achieve their own goals, without costing them an arm and a leg.

I will never guarantee a particular outcome - and you should be wary of a lawyer who makes such a guarantee - but I believe that a proactive approach is often more effective and less costly for a client than to wait until the house is on fire, and then call the firefighters (metaphorically speaking, of course)

I like to help people navigate through the complex maze of laws and political policies that are prominent features of the business landscape.
Soon, this site will contain information about some of the legal areas in which I have a particular interest. You can expect to find discussions about the privacy of healthcare and financial information. You can also expect to find information and links to laws about information technology, government procurement, and general business matters. And of course, you will also find information about my professional background and experience.

I'd be happy to respond to your email request for general information; but please note that any response I might make can be of a general nature only, and does not mean that I am your lawyer. In the same vein, please note that nothing contained on this site constitutes legal advice; it is provided for informational purposes only.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you come back soon
