Pictured above is the heart of my beloved SVT Contour....Ford's 2.5 liter DOHC (Double OverHead Cam) hollow camshaft 24 valve V6 which Ford affectionately refers to as a DuraTec engine.  Upscale Contour models ship with a 170HP version of the DuraTec engine.  Leave it to the SVT skunkworks to work their magic and boost this figure up to a somewhat potent 200HP figure.  To get to this magic number, SVT installs higher compression pistons, applies Extrude Honing to the primary and secondary intake ports and the entire intake manifold (worth 5HP alone!), a larger throttle body (60mm) from the 3.0 liter DuraTec V6 engine, a cold air intake with high performance air filter, and a 70mm MAF also from the 3.0 liter DuraTec V6 engine.
