| We just got this picture taken on Wednesday 9/13/06. The Technician asked us if we wanted to see a 3-D view and we of course jumped at the chance! We think he looks like Ben! Is he not the sweetest thing you have ever seen? |

| William Christopher Carter: Soon to be the newest member of the Carter family, he is already the center of much of his parents attention. Will has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). In short this means that the left side of his heart did not grow past a certain point. We have prayerfully decided that surgery is his best option. The surgery that he will undergo is called the Norwood surgery. This is actually a series of surgeries. The first will occur in his first week of life. How soon after birth it occurs depends on whether or not he has proper blood flow through his pulmonary veins. If not, the risk factors increase and he will need immediate surgery after he is born. We are asking for prayers on behalf of Will, that his veins will work properly and give him better odds. His second surgery will occur at three to four months and the third at around two years.
