   Welcome to the wonderful, wild and wacky world of weather! Weather is all around us and so we will be using our powers of observation a great deal as we explore this exciting field of study.  During this unit we will learn to:

      differentiate between weather and climate.
      keep a weather journal
      collect weather data
      make and use weather instruments
      interpret weather and climate data from charts and graphs
      use computational skills to interpret data
      draw conclusions and identify a trend from collected data
      use observations to make predictions
      recognize and understand different forms of precipitation
      understand the water cycle
      describe how global patterns such as the jet stream and    
      water currents influence local weather
      explore live weather images
      write a research paper using a weather related topic
