Rouen and Bayeux, France Boarded the Ferry from Cherbourg, France, to Rosslaire, Ireland (all in one day, whew!) |

This is the town of Rouen in Normandy.
The Cathedral in the background is St Ouen, one of three impressive gothic Cathedrals in the town. The most famous is Notre Dame. (not to be confused with the one in Paris) Monet painted it about thirty times while inventing impressionism!
Joan of Arc was burned at the stake near the center square, and there's a wooden church built in her honor. |

This Ferry whisked me from Cherbourg, France to Rosslaire, Ireland in a mere 20 hours!
It has 10 decks, 2 restaurants, a movie theatre, and a video arcade!
It's a large boat, but it still rocks quite a bit in the waves.
