| Pilot had seen many things in his short time with Moya and wouldnt trade a thing for it. He had gained so much, a crew he called his friends and family. But there was nothing he could have done to prepare him for what he was about to find out about. To Pilot it seemed like a normal day for the crew of Moya then a Peacekeeper asked to come aboard. She swore it was in the name of peace so he allowed her on, she detected no weapons so what was the harm he thought. Crichton, I have to see you, Pilot said. On my way, Crichton said. John Robert Crichton Jr. was the only human in this part of space, and was trying to get back home to his planet, Earth. In his time on Moya he had seen things that his fellow humans only dream about. Traveling in the stars, befriending other species and then there was their technology. He missed home very much and wished to go back there some day, but his quest for home lessened and lessened every day. What is it Pilot, Crichton said. Are you Commander John Robert Crichton Jr., a Peacekeeper asked him as he entered? Who want to know, Crichton said as emotionless as her. She looked about in her 20s, wore a Peacekeeper uniform, and had dark blond hair with smoky blue eyes. Her look werent hold but they were warm either. She seemed to be checking him out and he can only imagined why, but there was something about her that seemed familiar but he dismissed it. Mailia sent me to find you, she said, as she pulled out a box shape package. Okwho is she, Crichton asked. Well she said you wouldnt know her by this name, but she heard you were in this part of space. And, Crichton said. And said find the sebacean named Crichton, and Ive been looking for 5 solar days, she said. Why, Dargo asked, standing next to him. I dont knowbut Im lucky I found you, I have to return back and was afraid I wouldnt be able to give you this, she said, handing him the package. A gift from the peacekeeper will wonders never cease, Crichton said taking it. Dont open it until an arn after I have leave, she said. Why, Crichton said. Please just do it. She asked strickly. What is your name, Dargo asked. I am not allowed to tell you thatI am sorry. Good-bye Officer Crichton, she said and left. They watched her go she first picked up her bags and put them over her should her and left. They watched as her prowlers went out of sight. Crichton still examined the package shaking it around and hoping it wasnt a bomb or something. Rygel was the first to speak. Youre not a Peacekeeperor sebacean, Rygel said. We know that Sparky, but I guess she doesnt, Crichton said looking at him. Crichton was never a man to break his promise to anyone peacekeeper or not so he would wait the one arn as he told her he would. The package was still in his hands when Aeryn walked slowly passed his quarters and he knew she was curious as he was. Hey Aeryn, Crichton said, as she came and stood out side his quarters. Hey, Aeryn said back, moving in a little more, but not coming in fully. Aeryn would you mind coming in I need some with me when I open this package, Crichton said pretending not to see her small smile. Why, Aeryn asked a little coy. We dont know what it is, Crichton said. She smiled back a little larger and agreed to it. She walked more into his cell and took a seat next to him. His fingers went over the wrapping for a few more seconds. He unwrap the package and his eyes widen with shock, as he couldnt believe his eyes. It was a box a wooden box that he had only seen on earth. Aeryn saw the expression he gave and wondered why he was not moving his fingers anymore. Whats wrong Crichton, Aeryn asked. This boxthis box is my mothers, Crichton said. The box was wooden and had a peace sign on it, at the top it said peacekeeper and at the bottom is said Crichton. He flipped it over to see a symbol and he already knew what it was. Aeryn saw the symbol on the bottom and could only look at it as shocked as he was. The symbol was peacekeeper she knew that but only a special unit of peacekeepers knew this symbol-- his mother must have been on it. Then hit her he had told her a while ago that his mother was dead when he was 4 or 5. Your mothersI thought she was dead, Aeryn said in a somewhat low voice. She is or at least I thought so. She died when I was like 5 cycles old. In an experimental project, she was testing a new kind of formula, it cause a huge explosions, and her body was to badly burn to even recognize her a man saidmy dad never looked at it he just had it cremated, Crichton said. Cream- what, Aeryn asked. Its where you have the body burn to ashes, then you spread them over a place, like a park, the ocean, or the parking lot of the Pizza Parlor on the corner because that were you first met, were you shared your first kissed, were you propose to her and found out you were going to be a dad, Crichton said remember the stories his dad told him. Are they dead or alive, Aeryn asked as he smiled. Dead it another way we bury our dead, Crichton said. Its either that or the coffin in the ground, Aeryn said. You got it babe, Crichton said seeing her smile. He fumbled his fingers around the box for a few more moments then he opened it up to find pictures of Him, Jack, and her together and separate. A picture of what he thought the universe looked like, which he drew for her and his birth certificate. He found jewelry his dad and others got for things he made her and things like seashells she had collected. These were all burned in the lab with my momshe would always take this with her, Crichton said. Why, Aeryn asked. She never said it just what she did, Crichton said. He started to pull several items out when Aeryn spotted a letter taped inside it was in the English language. She pick it up and could read some, since Crichton had started to teach her to read human English. This is a newly written letter, Aeryn said pointing at the date. This must be the dateits November almost Thanksgiving, Crichton said. He took it from her and stared at it before he did anything. When he read this everything would change he knew that and did he want to risk it. He could tell by Aeryns face that she was still thanking about the thanksgiving remark, he made a note to explain all Earth holidays he knew about. This is my mothers stuff, Crichton said holding it up. What that, Aeryn said pointing a something gold that lied between a few pictures. Her wedding ring, Crichton said as Aeryn picked it up. Its a pretty ring, she said. Here was the first time I spelled my name for her, Crichton said. Picking up a paper that had a sloppy writing on it that to most people was only scribbles but it was his name. Or at least the John part he hadnt got Crichton on there yet. And the last picture that was taken of us togetherall of us as a family, Crichton said. How old were you when you wrote this, Aeryn asked with a smiling I was about 4 cycles old, Crichton said. Aeryn started to feel bad for him here for all these years he had thought she was dead. She had never really felt this feeling of remorse and it was strange. But for him she would allow her self to feel, but only for him. Crichton you dont have to read this letter, Aeryn said touching his arm. Yes, I do I want to see what excuse she has for abandon meus. Most of my life I thought she was dead and now I find out shes not. I dont know if to thanks god and hope to see her or hate her for it, Crichton said. Crichton Im sure she had her reasons, Aeryn said. Dear John Robert Crichton, My sweet dear son, I can only imagine what you are feeling and thinking right now. When I heard the name Crichton spoken by a Peacekeeper I had to find you, and ask forgiveness. I am a Peacekeeper and a very good one at that. The only reason I left you is that my captain said he would destroy ALL of Earth if I didnt. Yes we had the technology that could get you back to earth, but we were ordered to destroy it. I was given permission to go back before they destroyed it but that when I faked my death. The girl you met was the child I was pregnant with, but I never got to tell your father. Im so sorry-- I wish I could see the man you have become. If you ever want to see me in side is a map to my homeworld. I pray that you come and you and your friends are welcome, I love you my sweet little John. Love always, Your Mother He slowly put down the paper and closed his eyes and tight as he could get them. Aeryn was almost in tears, after he got done reading it. She put the stuff neatly back into the box waiting for him to say or do something. Aeryn I have to go, Crichton said opening his eyes. I know, Aeryn said. Thanksput the box over there, Crichton said. Ill let you goBut only on two conditions, Aeryn said as he looked at her. Depend on what they aretell me before I answer, Crichton said smiling shyly at her. One you have to carry you weapon at all timesNO matter what, and two I have to come with you, Aeryn said looking him straight in the eyes and he looked back at her and smiled. DealAeryn I would carry it anyway she may be my mom, but she still a Peacekeeper. Plus I always wished you could meet my parents, Crichton said. Crichton went to the box and lifted the top again and there it was it was the only thing he did recognize. He looked at the map seeing and making sure they were going into Peacekeeper territory. Crichton read what the English said and Aeryn found where it was on Pilots star charts. After a few arns of figuring out what she said in English them rewording into what it could be they found the planet. The strange thing was it was not a peacekeeper planet, actually Pilot never head of it before. Crichton well be there in 2 solar days, Aeryn said. Good, I think I need some time to think, Crichton said. Ok meet you in an arn for dinner, Aeryn said. Yes in one arn, Crichton said. Bye, Aeryn said leaving Crichton alone for a while.
