| Janet looked at Daniel and Cassandra who were hanging the last of the decorations up. Cassandra started to giggle as Daniel started to decorate her. Janet walked into the room to see Daniel with a red bow on his head and Cassandra had a red and silver bow in her hair. They both had glitter over themselves and the floor. Cassandra Daniel, Janet said. Hi mom, Cassandra said innocently. Its my fault Janet, Daniel said looking at their mess. I was just going to say besides the mess on the floor the house looks great, Janet said. Janet knew that Daniels Christmass before he joined SGC werent the best. As a child and teenager he spent them in whatever foster home he was in. As an adult he had no real family and no real close friends. Then he had come to the SGC where he made his family. So when she saw the look in his eyes she couldnt be mad at him. Okay all clean, Daniel said. Except for your clothing, Janet said. But this makes my clothing look so cool, Cassandra said. Got to love the teenage mind, Daniel said. See you both in the morning, Cassandra said. Night Cassie, Daniel said. Night Daniel, Cassandra said kissing his cheek. See you in the morning honey, Janet said looking at her watch. Bright and early, Cassandra said. Daniel fell on the couch and Janet came to snuggle up to him. He wrapped his arms around her waist kissing the side of her neck. Cassandra looked from the top of the stairs smiling at her parents. It was funny how she had come to think of Daniel as her dad. She remembered her real dad he was nice and kind just like Daniel. Janet, Daniel said. Yea, Janet said. Would you like to open one of your presents, Daniel asked. Sure, Janet said smiling. Daniel went over to his work bag got out the small package and handed it to her. She smiled at him hoping this was what she thought it was. She opened it up to see a sliver band with a not so tiny diamond. She looked at him he smiled at her as he took it out and slipped it on her finger. Janet Frasier would you do me the honor of being my wife, Daniel said. Yes, Janet said. Yes, Daniel said. She leaned forwards kissing him with all the passion she could muster. She could feel him smile through the whole kiss. She was going to be Mrs. Janet Jackson, she smile at the thought. They broke the kiss and he hugged her close. He then stood up taking her with him. Cassie she said yes, Daniel said. You both planned this, Janet said. Yep, Daniel said. Sweet, Cassandra said running down the stairs. She had been hanging out with Jack to much, Janet said. Sam wore a pair of black slacks with a dark blue short sleeve blouse. She wore her cross necklace she always wore on Christmas and black pumps. She carried all her gifts for her friends. Today was Christmas Eve, tomorrow was Christmas. Mark had not called her yet which didnt surprise her. Even know they still did not speak, he didnt even ask about their father. Jingle bells jingle bell jingle all the way, Janet said sang from the kitchen. Arent we happy today, Sam said. Its Christmas Eve and Im spending it with my family, Janet said. There is more I can tell, Sam said. How, Janet said. Youre glowing, Sam said. Daniel and I are getting married, Janet said holding up her hand. Sam smile and giggled as she looked at her hand. They then went into a hug and giggled some more. Daniel was up stairs when she heard Sam come in. He knew that Janet would tell her the moment they saw each other. And he was right because as he walked down stairs he heard giggling. He and Cassandra tricked me last night, I knew 8 oclock was too early for bed, Janet said. Sam youre here, Daniel said. Congratulations, Sam said. Jacks here, Cassandra said. Hey Jack, Daniel said. Mom said yes, Cassandra said. Who all knew about this, Janet asked. Not that many, Daniel said. Who, Janet asked. Jack Sam Tealc Cassie and General Hammond, Daniel said in one breath. Janet just looked at him and Jack and Sam started to laugh. Cassandra was already at the door to let in General Hammond and Tealc. Sam walked in stopped in shock as her father also walked in the door. She walked over to him giving him a big hug. Dad what are you doing here, Sam asked. Its Christmas Eve, Jacob said. Have you called Mark, Sam asked. Yes, he wasnt as happy as you were to hear from me, Jacob said. I know he didnt even invite me over this year, Sam said. Jacob you made it, Jack said. Hi Jack, Jacob said. Janet had to admit that Jack ONeill could cook. He had brought two pies, the ham, and a few other side dishes. Sam had brought one of the only things she could cook well a Banana Cream Pie. Daniel had brought his stuff the night before for both Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas dinner the next day. General Hammond had brought a big bowl of his Familys German Stuffing. Jacob had brought some Tokra dish that was surprisingly good. Tealc had made a chocolate cake, which made everyone laugh. What is so funny, Tealc asked. Chocolate Cakes usually isnt serves at Christmas dinner, Sam said. I will remove it, Tealc said. No thats okay, you can make chocolate cake anytime Tealc, Janet said. All woman love chocolate, Jack whispered to Tealc. Jack had been watching Sam for the past hour. She was helping Cassandra put together her telescope that he had given her. He was heading in the living room to talk to Daniel who was sitting and talking to Jacob. Sam had been on her way to the kitchen when they bumped in to each other. Sorry, Jack said. Not so fast, Janet said. What, Sam said. Look above your head, Jacob said. Oh no, Jack said. We cant its against regulations, Sam said. No its not, now kiss its tradition, Hammond said. Jack felt like his heart was beating faster and faster as he stood there. Everyone was watching them so knew Sam felt the Sam way. It didnt help that Sams father was standing right in front of them. Sam grabbed his shirt bring him down from an out of this world mind blowing kiss. Just as he began to respond to the kiss she broke apart smiling at him. Merry Christmas sir, Sam said. Merry Christmas Carter, Jack said. Well I have to go I told the council I would be back today, Jacob said. Goodbye Dad, Sam said. Bye Sammy, Jacob said. I must go as well, Tealc said. General Hammond was their ride so he had to leave as well. Daniel and Jack went outside with Cassandra to set up her telescope and see if they could see any stars. Janet and Sam went into the kitchen cleaning up her house since her parents came over the next day. You scared, Sam said. Im just worried they wont like Daniel staying over night, Janet said. Ask him to move in, Sam said. I was thinking about that, Cassandra thinks its a good idea, Janet said. Its not like he spend that much time at his apartment anyway, Sam said. Do you think he liked the kiss, Janet asked. I didnt really give him time to respond to me, Sam said. Sam, Janet said. What we have regulations, Sam said. General Hammond said SGC members where different so they need their own rule book. You can have a relationship off duty and off base, Janet said Sam couldnt believe what she just heard General Hammond had actually had their rules changed. She understood, unlike other bases theirs was different. They couldnt talk about their work with other officer who werent part of the SGC. That made them keep their friends to people who were in SGC. I had fun, Sam said. Bye Sam, Cassandra said. Bye, Sam said hugging her. I have to go too, Jack said hugging Cassandra then leaving. Jack saw that Sam was already going out to her car so he dashed up next to her. Sam looked up giving him a slight smile. When they go to her car she looked up at him seeing that he was smiling slightly. What do you have planned for tomorrow, Jack asked. Work, Sam said. But we have the day off, Jack said. I know but I have a lot of work, Sam said. Oh thats too bad, Jack said. Why, Sam said. I was wondering if you wanted to come over for dinner but if youre too busy, Jack said. I thought Daniel always came over, Sam said. He does, but this year hes with Janet, Jack said. You know what Im sure it can wait one more day, what time, Sam said. Say noon, Jack said. Jack smiled as Sam drove off, knowing that the only reason why she was going to work was because she had no plans. Mark hadnt invited her up this year, so she would spend her Christmas like she usually did, working. Daniel said would be over there later, but right than he didnt care. Sam had gone through every outfit she had in her closet. It was just Christmas dinner with her CO who happens to be a good friend of hers. She finally decided on her blue knee length short sleeve dress. Jack said told her last time she wore that it look nice on her. She put on her matching blue pumps that Janet had found for her and started to pick up her dish. Jack had been through all his clothing and couldnt decide what to wear. This was just Sam, his second in command and one of his best friends. But there was something more about it, why had she said yes. Jack had decided on a white button up dress shirt and pair of tan pants. He ran around the house making sure it was clean, dishes were set, and the food was almost done. Hi Sam, Jack said. Hey, Sam said. You look nice, Jack said. Thanks, Sam said slipping off her shoes. You brought, Jack said. Oh its my dads special fruit salad, Sam said. Dinner will be done in ten minutes, Jack said Jack took Sams coat as she made her way towards the table. She was wearing that dress, the dress the fit her every curve. The one she wore to Janets birthday party a few months before, and he couldnt keep his eyes off her. She went to the kitchen got a small bowl and put some of the salad in it. Here try some, Sam said offering him a bit. Okay, Jack said taking a bit. Remember Im not a good cook, Sam said. This is good whats in it, Jack said. A Carter family secret, Sam said smiling. Sam helped him finished to set the table with the food. Sam wondered why he was here alone this Christmas. She knew that last year Daniel and his mother came over. Tealc spent the whole down time with his family, which is where he was today. Sam wondered how Daniel was doing with Janets parents. Jack dinner was great, Sam said. You called me Jack, Jack said. You told me not too, actually if I remember right you made it an order, Sam said. I know its just you never actually call me that, Jack said smiling at her. The day had been prefect, they had gone all day talking and flirting. It was nice just to talk and not to worry about regulations. Sam still was in a little shock about that, maybe that was why she had agreed. Can I tell you the truth, Sam said. About, Jack questioned. The only reason why I was going to work today was because I had no plans, Sam said. I know I almost went to work as well, until Daniel told me that you didnt have plans either, Jack said. Why didnt mother come down this year, Sam asked. Shes got sick, called two days ago to tell me, Jack said. Thank you for inviting me, Sam said. You dont have to go yet its only going on one oclock, Jack said. Sam could see that he had something planned for them if she stayed so she did. She had a blast more fun then she had in a long time. They played a game of Scrabble, Monopoly, and Life while watched Lethal Weapon 3, Rush Hour and then listen to music. They talked about their lived before SGC while finishing off the pie he made and her fruit salad. Jack knew who it was when the phone ring. It would be Daniel telling him he was on his way over for their usual Christmas Movie Fest. ONeill, Jack said. Hey its Daniel, Daniel said. You coming down, Jack asked. Jack did Sam leave yet, Daniel said. No shes still here, why, Jack said. Good there a blizzard out there, Daniel said. How bad, Jack asked. Bad we cant see the streets, Daniel said. When the phone rang Sam went into the kitchen to get her another cup of coffee. She saw that it was almost seven oclock. She couldnt believe that she had been here that long. They had been through two movies about eight of his CDs but she couldnt believe it. When she looked outside she couldnt see anything but snow going everywhere. She had thought this would happen on her way here. Jack did you look outside, Sam said. I know Daniel just called me to make sure you didnt leave, Jack said. What, Sam said. They dont want you driving in this I have to agree, Jack said. Really where will I stay, Sam asked. In my spare room just until morning, Jack said. I think I can drive in this, Sam said. Come on Ill put in some more movies plus I have chocolate ice cream, Jack said smiling. Well I guess staying here wont be that bad, Sam said. Jack just smiled and laughing at her, which made her laugh as well. He walked into his room changing into a pair of sweat pants and t-shirt. He grabbed a pair of his boxer and a t-shirt knowing she would need something to wear tonight. She couldnt wear that dress all night. Sorry Daniel couldnt make it, Sam said. Thats okay weve decided to have our Christmas Movie Fest tomorrow, Jack said. Thats cool, Sam said. Here you can change in the bathroom, there some extra tooth brushes and stuff in the bottom drawer, Jack said. Thanks, Sam said taking the clothes from him. It was only after seven and they were already getting ready for bed. He put some wood in his place turning it on. He decided on Rush Hour2 since they watched Rush Hour earlier today. It was an action pack comedy movie that was full of surprises. Sam walked out she had wiped her make up off, brushed her teeth and combed her hair. Jack had brought a few blankets out for them. Hey, Sam said. I was thinking Rush Hour2, Jack said. Only if I get to choose the next movie, Sam said. Deal, Jack said turning to look at her. He looked away a few moments later. Jack looked at her one more time as she cuddled up in the blankets on the couch. She looked amazingly beautiful. He saw her for her natural beauty, her hair wasnt fixed up and she was wearing his clothing. He put the movie in settled on the couch under the blankets. I have to admit this was a good movie, Sam said. See, Jack said. My choice, Sam said looking at his selection. Why you choose Ill get us something to drink, Jack said. Jack walked in as the movie she picked started to play. She was still looking at the movies when he came back so he went to her side. She was reading the back of one movie then went to a home movie of his. It was one of his old hockey games he played when he was younger. She put it back picking up another home movie which he took before she would read what it was about. Jack, Sam said. Come on you know you want to see it, Jack said. Whats it about, Sam asked. These are the Jack ONeill years, Jack said putting it in. He was right it showed him at all staged in his life. His mother had made this for him to show to his friends if they ever asked what he was like as a child. It showed parts of his high school life, his old girlfriends, and his time of playing hockey. It showed him as he became an Air Force Officer. It went to different family event that showed him playing around. It then shows clips from his wedding, Charlies birth and several other moments with his son. Wow you sure lived life to the fullest, Sam said. Yea do you have any home movies of your younger self, Jack asked. No my parents were big on pictures, have a whole photo album dedicated to me, Sam said. Maybe I can see it sometime, Jack said. Maybe, Sam said. Jack had turned off the TV put the tape back up seeing Sam watch him. He turned up the music extending his hand as a slow song came on. She except it and he pulled her put in the middle of his floor. Wrapping her arms around his neck he put his around her waist. They began swaying back and forth to the music losing them selves in the warm embrace. Jack looked her in the eyes she was smiling her Carter smile. Thanks for coming, Jack said. Your welcome, thanks for inviting me, Sam said. Anytime, Jack said He leaned forward kissing her gently. She brought him closer deepening the kiss. Both stopped the dancing getting more into the kiss. It was full of love no passion no desire just a sweet loving kiss. Jack broke the kiss smiling at her she smiled back. Merry Christmas Sam, Jack said. Merry Christmas Jack, Sam said |
