Summary: AU Story. Sophia older brother Vince is back in town and Sophia is not happy.

�I came back to see my family,� Vince said.
�After 6 years you come back,� Sophia said.
�I�m sorry I had to leave,� Vince asked.
�Who�s with you,� Sophia asked.
�This is my wife Isabel and our 2 year-old daughter Maria,� Vince said.
�You remember Luke Cates,� Sophia said.
�Of course where is dad I really want to see him,� Vince said.
�We�ll take you to him,� Luke said taking Sophia hand.
Vince and his wife followed Sophia and Luke noted how Vince carried Maria. His wife was very quiet Luke could tell that and he knew by their clothing they were well off. Sophia was not that happy to see Vince she loved her brother but was mad at him for leaving. Matthew was home in the house waiting for Luke to bring Sophia back when smelled a scent he hadn�t smelled for 6 years.
�Dad,� Vince said.
�Vince,� Matthew said.
�Dad I�d like you to meet my wife Isabel and our daughter Maria,� Vince said.
�Hi,� Maria said.
�Hi�your home,� Matthew said hugging him.
�Yes we staying at the lounge until we can buy a house,� Vince said.
�I�ll take Maria she looks like she�s almost asleep,� Isabel said.
Isabel took Maria and smiled at Luke and Sophia on her way out. Sophia could smell that Vince never flipped and she was happy about that. He left her and this family because he couldn�t deal with school and the hill kids. He left without one word of goodbye and she was not happy with him. The animal in her wanted to rip his throat out, but the human in her kept her calm.
�I�ll see you tomorrow baby,� Luke said kissed her cheek and left.
�By Luke,� Sophia said.
�Was that your boyfriend,� Vince said.
�Yes,� Sophia said.
�I should go with Isabel Maria won�t sleep without me telling her a story,� Vince said.
�Why don�t you come by the police department tomorrow,� Matthew said.
�I will Isabel and Maria have so wanted to meet you�both of you,� Vince said leaving.
Matthew could see the anger in Sophia eyes and he put his head down. They were so close even though they were a few years apart they were close. She wanted to be like her big brother, then when she was 11 and he was 16 he left. Now she was 17 and he was 21 he is back. But unlike before he could pick on her because she�d throw him through the window. Sophia went up stairs and slammed the door and he knew what that meant. He�ll talk to her tomorrow before she went out with her friends.
�Sophia time to get up,� Matthew said.
�I�m already up,� Sophia said walking out of her room.
�Honey he�s back can�t you be happy,� Matthew said.
�Dad he hates the hill kids that why he ran away,� Sophia said.
�Sophia,� Matthew said.
�Do you think he�ll like me when he finds out I�m one of them,� Sophia said.
�You�re his sister he�ll always love you,� Matthew said.
�I hope so because I can�t change who I am,� Sophia said leaving.
Sophia could hardly believe what her dad was saying. He knew nothing of what Vince was like or went through. He was a half-breed like her, but he didn�t flip. Vince watched his sister from a far and noticed how different she was then most of the human girls. She had on a pair of gray tight pants with a dark blue short sleeve shirt that came a little above her belly button. She walked towards a group of girls and guys even though he didn�t know who they were he knew what they were-- the hill kids.
�Sophia,� Vince said.
�What,� Sophia said.
�Thought me you and dad could have breakfast,� Vince said.
�Already ate,� Sophia said.
�Sophia,� Vince said.
�I�ll be back,� Sophia said.
�We�ll meet you at Luke�s car in ten,� Presley said.
�Okay,� Sophia said.
�Listen you don�t belong with them,� Vince said.
�I belong with my own,� Sophia said.
�You own�your own is human,� Vince said.
�Vince I�I�m part of the pack,� Sophia said.
�What,� Vince said.
�I�m a hill kid so I do belong with them,� Sophia said.

Vince watched Sophia walk away and Luke come up to her. Everything started to make since to him now. How she knew he was there last night, the way she knew there were others with him. Everything was beginning to add up and he was in total shock. Why had she changed and he had not had his mother blood been stronger in him than her.
�I can�t believe he�s back,� Sean said.
�Yea after 6 years of no communication he come back into your life,� Sara said.
�Know what I don�t care I can�t change who I am so if he can�t deal with it it�s his lose,� Sophia said.
�You go,� Presley said.
�Sophia can I talk to you for moment,� Luke said.
�Sure,� Sophia said and they walked away from the group.
�Mom wants you to come to dinner tonight,� Luke said.
�Why,� Sophia said.
�Family dinner with John and Ruby and she wants you there�I want you there,� Luke said.
�Cool,� Sophia said.
�Yea it�ll get you out of dinner with your brother,� Luke said.
�Dad the blue or red dress,� Sophia said.
�They both look fine,� Matthew said.
�Dad,� Sophia said.
�How about that black slack blue shirt outfit Molly gave you,� Matthew said.

Sophia ran up stairs when she heard Vince�s car coming a few blocks away from there. She knew he was going to be crushed she wasn�t going but she couldn�t say no to the alpha. So she went up stairs put on the outfit Molly had given her a few months before. She topped it off with her black pumps and her hair parted to the side with a few barrettes in her hair.
�What going on,� Vince said.
�Dinner with Luke�s family,� Matthew said.
�I thought we were all having dinner,� Vince said.
�Can�t say no to Vivian Cates,� Sophia said from her room.
�Vince said Sophia has great grades is that true,� Isabel said.
�Yes,� Sophia yelled and Isabel looked shocked.
�Our family is known for good hearing,� Matthew said.
�It must have skipped Vince,� Isabel said.
�Goodbye see you all later,� Sophia said.
�Sophia come in,� Vivian said.

�Sophia I need to speak with you,� Vivian said.

�No I need to speak to you both before dinner starts,� Vivian said.

�Sophia could you go and get the knife,� John said.

�Let begin�Ruby had something to say,� Sherman said as Sophia came back and took her seat.
�Tonight I have brought my family here to tell you all�I�m pregnant,� Ruby said.
�Congratulations Sis John,� Luke said.
�Well Vivian looks like your going to be a grandma,� Sherman said.
�Dinner was great,� Vivian said.
�Thank John he cooked most of it,� Ruby said.
�I also wanted to announce the pre-engagement of Luke and Sophia,� Sherman said.
�Pre-engagement is that important,� John said as Luke and Sophia went to the other room.
�Yes �they both agree to marry someday,� Sherman said.
�So basically they�re engaged,� John said.
�Yes and when they turn 18 they�ll marry,� Vivian said.
�Does this happen a lot,� John said.
�Yes a lot of people choose their mate during high school,� Vivian said.
�I�ll walk you home,� Luke said.
�Okay,� Sophia said.
�My mom seemed happy with my choice,� Luke said.
�My dad said it�s not official until the wedding,� Sophia said.
�He seems to be happy with Vince being back,� Luke said.
�Yea he�s human and I�m not,� Sophia said.
�He loves you�you two have a connection that Vince and him don�t have,� Luke said.
�Yea neither of us can leave Wolf Lake and Vince can,� Sophia said.
Luke could see that she was really torn up about Vince being back. He took her into his arms and just held her for a few moments. Usually he would put a move on her but not tonight he just wanted her to know he was there. Sophia drew him in closer and just held on. They let go after what seemed like forever and return to their walking to her place.
�They never seem to be a part,� Isabel said seeing Luke and Sophia in the distance.
�Yes and his hands are always on her,� Vince said.
�There young and in love,� Matthew said.
�Dad you should talk to her before she does something she�ll regret,� Vince said.
Sophia and Luke tried to not laugh at what they were hearing. If Vince and Isabel knew what her and Luke have done and where they have done it they�d freak. Luke stopped where he was a leaned close to kiss her and not so gently either. Vince and Isabel watched in shock since they were only a few houses away now. Sophia went up to where they were standing.
�Dad can Luke come for dinner tomorrow,� Sophia said going into the house.
�Okay but you cook,� Matthew said.
�Luke dinner at six,� Sophia said.
�See you tomorrow,� Luke said.
�Night,� Sophia said.
Vince watched as Luke watched her from the distance as he walked to where ever he was going. Matthew knew he must have parked his car a few blocks down so he could have more time to talk to Sophia. Vince looked at Isabel and went inside. Matthew hoped Sophia would keep her cool and not overreact.
�You don�t like that I�m back do you,� Vince asked.
�You left you without one goodbye then come back with a wife and a kid expecting nothing to have change,� Sophia said.
�Sophia life was hard for me,� Vince said.
�Life is so easy for me,� Sophia said.
�Yes you�re on of them I wasn�t,� Vince said.
�I just recently flipped Vince, they made fun of me more then they ever did you,� Sophia said trying not to be loud.
�Really,� Vince said.
�Vince Luke is the son of the alpha so when we became friends I really got it,� Sophia said.
�I�m back now doesn�t that mean anything,� Vince said.
�Vince why did you really leave,� Sophia said.
�I always knew you would flip you were different�I felt like I didn�t belong,� Vince said.
�So you left no goodbye no nothing,� Sophia said.
�Sophia don�t be mad at me please forgive me,� Vince said.
�It hurt you know�I always thought maybe you didn�t love me or something,� Sophia said.
�I have and always will love you,� Vince said.
Sophia looked him in the eyes and she gave him a hug. This was when her father walked in with a smile on his face. They were on the way of making up he knew they would. It wouldn�t be easy for them anyone who lived in Wolf Lake knew that. Both lived in two different worlds with two different views on it. But they were bound together with bonds no one could break. Now with Ruby and John having a baby and his son being back Matthew knew things were only beginning for Wolf Lake.
