I greatly enjoyed reading this book. Lord of the Flies is an extremely thought-provoking story that takes an interesting point of view. I felt Golding interwove many themes . These themes teach you something about yourself and all humanity. It really causes you to investigate your true inner self. What you discover may be quite a surprise. One of the more prevalent themes is humans natural inclination towards evil. I agree with this statement fully. We all have some form of evil within us. What we do with this evil determines what kind of person we are. Anyone can give in to this evil and have a nasty personality. It takes a strong person to overlook his or her own evil to remain a nice, kind person. These are the people to be admired. The exact opposite took place on the island. Jacks savage personality was looked up to and imitated, which I believe led to the fall of their society. |
