Story: Of Mice and Men Written by John Steinbeck
Curly�s wife has a dream of being a movie star. George and Lenny�s dream is to own a farm with rabbits, pigs, crops, and various other things. Candy begins to dream that he can go somewhere where he will be appreciated for what he can do. He wants to be able to have a place to sweep and work and not ever have to worry about being canned as the workers call it. Curly�s wife believes her dreams were ruined and crushed by her mother. George and Lenny�s dream is crushed by Lennies clumsiness and because he does not know his own strength. Lenny destroys Candy�s dreams and when Lenny is murdered by George Candy�s dream is destroyed very very quickly. George is just what many people had say he is a loner who was better off with out Lenny. Lenny destroys his own dream when he murders Curly�s wife. After his injury Candy knew that he would very soon be canned since he will not be able to continue to work for much longer. But he figures that George and Lenny will need some help at their farm so he threw his pitch to them. Curly�s wife dream is further ruined and crushed when she meets her untimely fate at the hands of a strong but dumb Lenny. |
