A great place to live, The United States of America Land of the free, home of the brave I'm happy to live in such a nation Still I wonder why I'm here at this place And why I call it home A small state in that great nation, South Carolina Somewhere with "smiling faces, beautiful places" What a place to live Still I wonder why I'm here at this place And why I call it home A northern county in that great state, Marlboro County Stricken with poverty and despair, but lacking much crime Not a bad place to be Still I wonder why I'm here at this place And why I call it home The biggest town in that great county, Bennettsville Small and secluded, but a great place to grow up I'm glad to be here Still I wonder why I'm here at this place And why I call it home A medium-sized house on main street in that great town Efficient enough for my needs, a place to call home I'm more than satisfied Still I wonder why I'm here at this place And why I call it home Then I realize this is the place for me I realize I was put here for a reason And I realize why I'm here at this place And why I call it home |
