| PRESIDENT BUSH...HERO? |
| President Bush has declared war on terrorists and those who harbor them. Do you think his efforts are heroic and do you think the American peopleor the majoritysupport his efforts? Support your response with specific details. On September 11, 2001 history is made. Terrorists hijack and crash four airliners, which result in the destruction of the World Trade Centers and severe damage to the Pentagon. Lives are lost, hearts are broken, and relationships are shattered, but Americas spirit is not broken. President George W. Bush makes the decision to react by declaring war on the terrorists throughout the world. Are these efforts heroic, or are the efforts necessary in such times? The American people must stand as one nation in order for America to remain strong. The decisions President Bush makes are not heroic. These decisions mark the first step in the survival of our nation. A hero is a man of great strength and ability or one who is admired for his achievements and qualities. President Bush does not obtain either of these qualities to full capacity. I believe President Bush would also agree with me that choices must be made for the betterment of America, not to strengthen his name or profile. President Bush says, United we stand, not united I stand. The American people are standing as one nation in this decision. Political, religious, and cultural opinions are being sacrificed in order to achieve the one common goal of America...freedom from terrorism. Our United States Congress is standing as one body. Democrats and Republicans are laying aside their by-partisan arguments to join as one force behind the President. The approval rate of President Bush rises as his decisions are put into action. At present, President Bushs approval rate stands at ninety-two percent, more than any other President since Franklin D. Roosevelt. Unity strengthens each day. Although President Bushs decisions are not considered heroic, they do stand noteworthy. His decisions deserve praise and commendation. President Bush is able to lay aside personal feelings to make life-changing decisions which affect the nation as a whole. America stands united with him. Therefore, could we not say the hero lives within us all? |
