Returned to duty on Nov. 4, 1861. Muster Roll for Jan. & Feb. 1862 state that he was sick at Culpepper Court House since Nov. 14, 1861 by order of Surgeon and standing order of Hd. Qtrs. On Mar. 13, 1862 he was admitted to Chimborazo Hospital No. 5 in Richmond, Va. with Dysentery. On Jun. 1, 1862 was transferred to Danville, Va. or Lynchburg, Va. He was captured by the enemy on Oct. 18, 1862 in Estill Co., Ky. Received at Camp Chase, Oh. on Oct. 24, 1862 from Cincinnati, Oh. Transferred to Cairo, Ill. on Oct. 27, 1862.  :Personal Description: Height - 5' 11"; Eyes - Hazel; Hair - Brown; and Complextion - Dark. He was 28 years of age at the time he was captured by the enemy. |
