Military Service:

On August 19, 1861, Granville ADAMS enlisted as a Private in Company C, 3rd Kentucky Infantry under the command of Captain James H. McNeill at London, Kentucky.  He was mustered into service on September 22, 1861 at Camp Dick Robinson.  Granville was present with his company and regiment until April 30, 1862.  He was reported absent from May 1862 to August 31, 1862.

On October 16, 1862, Granville was captured by the enemy at Mt. Vernon, Kentucky and paroled at London, Kentucky on October 19, 1862.  He was sent to Camp Chase, Ohio and was reported there on December 24, 1862. He rejoined his company and regiment on February 28, 1863 where he remained until October 20, 1863 when he was reported absent at the Convalescent Camp in Carrollton, Louisiana. Granville rejoined his company and regiment in December of 1863.

Granville was present and remained with his company and regiment until sometime in February 1864, when he was discharged by virtue of his re-enlistment as a Veteran Volunteer.  He was mustered in as a Veteran on February 29, 1864.  On December 24, 1864, per Special Order No. 96, Head Quarters District of Baton Rouge and Port Hudson, Louisiana, Granville was transferred to Company D, 7th Kentucky Veteran Infantry.  He was present with his company and regiment until he came down with Small Pox on July 16, 1865 and was sent to the Hospital at Clinton, Louisiana.  After he recovered, Granville rejoined his company and regiment where he remained until he was mustered out with his company on March 11, 1866 at Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

On April 17, 1889, Granville applied for a pension based on the disabilities he received during his service in the United States.  His widow, Julia "Jalia" Francis, applied for a Widow's Pension on March 31, 1892.

NOTE:  Military Service is incomplete.
Residences:

After his discharge, on March 11, 1866, Granville resided in Rockcastle County, Kentucky until his death on March 19, 1892.  After his death, his widow, Julia "Jalia" Francis, resided in Rockcastle County, Kentucky where she died on March 15, 1918.
