I love the page where you show you 4 wheeling in your civic wagon. It is really cool. Can see why you bought an suv. lol Where are you from, I love the pictures of your area.

HAHA this page is great dude...My favorite thing to do is to go muddin' in my civic wagon. It does great. I've even gotten through places where a jeep cj7 got stuck...I'm actually thinking about putting a small lift kit on my car?? Any thoughts?

I am interested in purchasing a 4WD Honda Civic Wagon 86-91. I prefer low miles (under 100K). Any leads appreciated. Also if you have a list of buyers or owners tips on the car (do/don'ts, performance mods, problem areas, etc.) please let me know. Tha

I just bought this amazing baby blue wagon a month ago, trading in my POS '87 Escort GT. So far, I've added some 80w Acoustic Research 5 1/4 speakers up front, with a an old Kenwood pull-out CD deck I got for cheap. I also just bought a Sony amp and a 10"
Rockford Fosgate subwoofer for it; the wagon shape makes for great acoustics!:) Anyway, I've already beat this car to death in many situations in which a normal(read: American) car would've been stuck or dead. So far, I've only had to replace the front br
kes and springs, but I'm looking to add a decent exhaust system and clutch. Ideas for later: massive rims and a top chop?:) Maybe not, I'm happy with the white, soccer-Mom rims...

I WOULD LIKE EMAIL WITH ANYONE WHO HAS SPENT TIME WORKING ON 4WD WAGONS. HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH AIR COND COMPRESSOR, CONDENSER FAN, CHARGING SYSTEM. I PRESENTLY HAVE TROUBLES WHICH SEEM TO POINT TO THE ECU CARD WHICH WAS MADE ONLY FOR THIS PARTICULAR CAR.
DESPITE ALL THIS I STILL LIKE THIS CAR! IVE NEVER DRIVEN IT IN WINTER CONDITIONS AS I PUT MY 83 CIVIC WAGON WINTER BEATER ON THE ROAD. THE BEATER HAS 490.000 KM / REBUILT AT 213,000 KM

I dealt with jacobs for over a year on my pro street pak. The computer kept on failing and my jeep would bog and stall constantly. I kept sending them back different parts and I would have to pay shipping on them. They would send out something new and it
till wouldn't work. When the jeep would stall I'd have to get out disconnect the jacobs and put the jeep back to stock form, in the middle of the road and it would start right up and drive without a single sputter or hesitation. Over a year and a half lat
r they finally sent me out a whole new system with the new computer design and luckily it hasn't failed, yet. I support you in your hate for jacobs and I made sure it is known, at least in my area, not to ever buy anything from them, EVER!!!
Oh yeah, I came across this page because I'm fixing up my wifes 90 honda civic wagon. My next upgrade is a zc engine from japan. Anyone with info on this swap with an automatic trans can email me at [email protected]

I am 18 and have owned my Honda for 2 years. I took that car places cars shouldn't go and back. Now it is dead. A lack of oil or a lack of coolant, or both has left it dead in my yard. I need to know if there is anyone out there who might know how to
ind out exactly why a loud bang and a splash of oil on the back of my engine compartment has left me on foot.

Great page, I am quite a fan of hondas, but it seems like you have had a ton of trouble out of yours. Mine is only a 2wd, but i am in the process of fixing it up. I only hope to find more pages on these great little cars. amazing how much stuff you can
get in it, eh.

You have to check the modifications that I have on my "racing" wagon now. I have Jamex daytona racing seats (had to make my own brackets) w/ 3point racing harnesses, grant steering wheel, razo carbon fiber shift knob and pedals, brullen exhaust w/ 2.25" p
ping, K&N intake, Pacesetter headers, rear disc brakes (off a CRX, but had to custom weld), NGK ign. wires, Wings West RS-series front bumper, custom interior (white and black), Sprint springs, Bilstein shocks, Konig GTR rims, Shogun rear strut brace, tin
ed, and other stuff, and it's still in progress. I might do a tail-light conversion and swap the motor for a B16A. If anyone wants to exchange info or stories on wagons e-mail me. I love my wagon! I still can find anyone that can out-corner me! Great Site

I love Rhonda, my Civic 4wd wagon, it is amazing what it will haul. It use to belong to my girl friend, I bought it from her when she wanted to finally retire it. The only new car that came close to replacing it is the CRV. While the CRV is nice, the i
terior is no where near as versatile as the wagon and doesn't hold nearly as much. I have moved 6ft book cases in the wagon, which could never be done in the CRV. I also think it is more fun to drive. Unfortunately Rhonda is slowly rusting away thanks
o our salty New Hampshire roads. I'm going to keep her going as long as I can, but it is only a matter of time. *sigh*

Cool page! I used to have an 86 Civic wagon - great car, maybe best I've ever had - but too many New York winters killed it. Replaced it with Subaru, but now going to get a CRV.

I am looking for a 1990 or 1991 Civic Wagon 4WD. It doesn't matter what color it is, but I understand that there was an option between a 6 speed manual or auto. I would prefer the manual but I would take the auto.

I drive like a maniac and my civic wagon never quits. It's the best car I've ever had.I can fit anything in it. I'm a musician and I can fit all of my band's gear in it alone. It handles great, gets amazing gas milege, and can go 100 mph without shaking if
I am in a hury. Why don't they make these wagons anymore!!! They are the perfect car.
Comments:
This is our second '91 RT. Bought it two months ago from a senior engineer at Honda in Torrance. It's a real gem. Bright red, Del Sol alloys, rear speaker pods, r-h mirror, a/c, mud flaps, and a top-of-the-line Pioneer stereo so far. Working this wint
r on installing power mirrors, door locks, windows and cruise off of a wrecked LX. Also looking for the lower console, and the rear cargo cover (retracking) and a original roof rack. Regarding the 4wd in the summer, simply dissengage the 4WD as detailed
in the "towing" section of the owners manual. You'll get about 3 more MPG, it will feel like an extra 5 HP, and you'll stop scrubbing the rear wheels on tight turns. It takes about 3 minutes to do.

Some answers to ?'s in the guest book:
The Jackson Racing supercharger WILL NOT work
on a 2wd wagon, per the Jax Racing Techs. It
has the wrong type injection system. But will
work on the 1.6 engine.
'91 was the last year of the Civic Wagon.
Per the techs at Honda, the CRX-Si 1.6 engine
has a different cam & dwell than the 1.6 wagon
engine, but other than that should work OK.
Does anyone know where I can get some window
vent visors for my '90 wagon?I can still get
them for my '83!
If anyone's interested, the instrument
cluster from any "83 civic will fit in a
wagon. (My '83 has a factory tach!)
'88-'89 wagon front seats will not work in a
'90-91, & vice-versa.
I have a coin box in my '90 wagon. Just like
the one in the '88-89's.
14" Honda wheels will fit in place of the
13" wheels.
There's an '83 Civic wagon, a blue one in
NC for $500. It needs a litte work. If
still interested, e-mail me back.
I'ld love to have a dark grey (graphite)'91
4wd wagon; where can I find one?
My '90 wagon took me from Pittsburgh to Charlotte
NC in 6 hours! My tag frame says "I'm Not Driving Fast, I'm Fling Low"! Great sight, gotta go.

great page! I love my wagon, except for MPG+power.
there is a supercharger available-Jackson racing kit I'm told fits well. I bought my civic 8 months ago for $3000-Same engine as my 89 civic si, but bigger+more utility. I took out the center driveshaft for the non-snow months for more power+economy, but
he car is still a little heavy for the tiny engine. I'm thinking about supercharger or Japan-imported ZC engine, But I Have my eye on a mid-eighties honda shadow instead for thrills. anyway, thanks and I'd love to hear from you!

Will part with my dear 1988 Laguna Gold Honda Civic 4WD Wagon for parts or engine transplant. I've found a 1985 BMW 318i that I've fallen in love with after owning my Civic Wagon for 10 years. My baby died at 174K miles. Everything but the engine has b
en repaired or replaced on the Wagon. Interior and exterior body is in excellent condition! Axles, A/C compressor, radiator, catalytic converter, muffler, exhaust system, and more has been replaced. There is no Northern salt rust on this Heart of Dixie
darlin'! With engine transplant, will be near-perfect car good for another 174K miles! If you don't want to buy this Southern gentleman of a car -- for parts or to replace the engine, PLEASE ADVISE ME on getting a replacement engine, preferably from a U
S. used engine (low-mileage, warranted, reasonably-priced) importer. THANKS!

I am an electronics engineer. I worked for Chris Jacobs from Feb, 96 to May 97. I developed the code for the OMNI and MAGNUM plus others. I (and another co-worker) complained about certain production processes that were causeing failures. Such as aluminum
flakes in the potting compound (the machine shop was next to the potting shop) that caused component shorts. Nothing was done about it. They said it was an anomoly. When I left the company (out of disgust) I bought an OMNI because I believe in the code (h
ll, I wrote it!) and installed it on our toyota truck. Well, it crapped out too many times and they sent me two others; all did the same thing. I was out the complete cost of the damn thing. Anyway, their production is the problem. The design is stable. I
have been running an OMNI prototype since April 96 with no problems. What is the difference ? It doesn't have any potting compound (no metal flakes to short components and the potting compound has no better thermal characteristics than air; doesn't cool t
e device like they thought) and it doesn't sit on top of the coil (they don't have adequate electromagnetic shielding for that configuration). I can't really live without the darn thing. It especially helps in cold weather with the multisparks. I have bee
tempted to build my own up and sell them. If they would just fix their production process they would have a reliable unit. My dad went through two units, two other friends went through two each and I went through three production units. I will run the pr
toype forever it seems though. Sorry for rambling. I did alot of work for those people and am still bitter about how they handle the company and their employees.

I love my car!! It's been reliable, cheap, fun to drive in mud and snow, and because the whole inside can go flat, it's been a home away from home!..BUT although the engine is running well, the body (a curse on Ontario's road salt!)and miscellaneous other
parts may force me to part with her soon. I wish I could replace her..but with what?? Anyone have recommendations of a similar beast?? Please write!

I love my Honda. I just wish there was a way that I could save the poor beast (it's falling victim to the dreaded rear-wheel-arch rust. I fully intend to find another, perhaps from somewhere without road salt (although most were sold in the snow belt).
It seems that the rust isn't as bad on the '90 and '91 models, particularly the non-metalic paint ones (red and tan), or am I just dreaming? I love the engine and the grannie gear below first. With a set of performance snow tires, mine will still push s
ow with the front bumpers. It's just about the best all-purpose, do nearly anything vehicle I can think of.

I've just bought this 1988 Honda Civic Wagon 4wd.
Over here there are not too many around and I hope I have not bought a Pig in a Poke. It has the larger 1.6 ltr engine with twin carb's and looks to be quite a job to service.
Can you tell me much about the reliability of the
vehicle? Any foreseeable problems?.

I have several vehicles at present; they include a 76 914/4 VolksPorsche (2 liter), two 1974 VW Type 4/412 station wagons, a 77 Chev pick-up, an 81 Yamaha 750 Seca motorcycle, and my bright orange 1979 Honda Civic station wagon. Of all of these, "Buster t
e Wonder Honda" is my favorite. It is a delight to drive, park, transport things in, commute in, and simply enjoy as one of the last great 'honest' transportation devices (also cheap to operate!). The only down-side: the average American, obsessed with "b
gger is better" disorder (indigenous to basic American economic philosophy), has no respect for small, efficient, humble, and fun little cars such as are older Hondas. Seems to be especially true of HUGE semi-truck/trailer drivers. The up-side: "Buster" i
unique and I love it! If you ever figure out who the Patron Saint of small, innocent Honda Civics is, let me know, eh? Cheers!

Glad you have this page. I'm doing research for a 4wd car with good reliability and gas milage since I drive about 20kmi every winter in the mountains. My truck doesn't cut it. Subaru's suck on gas milage, and it seems that they're always in need of re
airs. I really don't care for the looks of the Honda Wagon, but after seeing your makeover, it looks like I may get one. Thanks.
Comments:
Great little car. Engine still running strong. Honda shouldn't have discontinued the Civic 4WD model in 1990 (in Canada). The 4WD model would sell better if they came up with better colors and painted rear wind deflector. The CRVs are basically the modif
ed version of the Civic Wagon and they do sell really well here in Vancouver.
