Sense Plan Act Robot
The robot I chose to view and describe is the Honda ASIMO. This robot has been a long time in the making because it can do things that no other robot can do. This humaniod robot is a great example of sense-plan-act, and it does this quickly. This robot is revolutionary in the was it moves. It can sense its position motion and balance, and then plan how to stabalize itself using many motors in its construction, and then it was move accordingly. It walks like a human. To walk, a human pushes their body weight upwards and at the same time takes a step. Now with motion started, the body moves forward then down, as the body returns to its normal position. This is repeated again each step. The ASIMO, with its computer and senors, can do this too, gracefully. Even if required to turn, this robot can munipulate its body weight so that it can walk while changing directions. No other robot can sense plan and act in the was this one does.
