Step-1: First I pulled out my old tail lights, did some common sense and instivtive thinking, and ripped out the whole backside. I took off my back bumper so i could more easily see what i was workin with. The whole backside included the thin metal sheet in middle where your reflector bolted on, the bracket area for the tail lights themselves, and even the trunk lid lock. I used a special saw used for cutting through metals ( thin metals ) cut all that off, and after that, i sanded everything down, so not to cut myself on any edges. Then i got some Fiber Glass to work with, and added several layers on the bottom where the arrows in the picture are pointing. Enough so that the lights wouldn't have a HUGE gap between the bottom and metal, then sanded when dried.

Step-2: Here, you see my car, with everything sanded, tail lights out, fiber glass dried and sanded smooth, and the trunk lid is also closed, jus to see what it will almost look like when finished. Doing this just gave me an idea of what i had to do to make the perfect fit with the tail lights. The trunk lid is held closed with a bungee cord  : P
Step-3: Here is a picture with the tail lights just sitting inside where they will be molded into soon. Giving me more ideas,  letting me know things like the size brackets i will need to make, so i got to it. - I used the metal off a old stove's side, and ripped it up and shaped it to fit the base of the light and extra just in case, and bent the sides so that i could bolt metal flaps together so they would separate and the lights sat in firm and snug. from there, i got the holes where the bolts needed to bolt in, and cut out holes in the back of the sheet metal, so that the lights don't fall out while i'm driving : P   - And repeated the process for the other tail light.
Step-4: From the bottom of the tail light, to the bottom of the bracket sheet metal folded underneath it , is  a gap that will needed to be filled with fiber glass. And there are some tricky stunts i'm going to have to pull to make the contour of the car match the shape of the lights to give the car a more smooth look. A more rounded rear end - rear end.. mmmm - oh .. anyways, i will need to cut part of the corner where the RED arrow points to round it more, and fill in with fiber glass where the GREEN arrow points.

front of bracket showing tail light in it
- These 3 pix are the backsides of my bracket i made with the Prelude tail light in it.The 3rd pic to left, is from the front view. For the back of brackets, i had to cut out with saw the shape you see above for the light bulbs to fit in. I just got the foam piece that goes behind tail light ( comes w/ light ) and traced that with wood, cut out the wood, and put wood on metal sheet, and traced shapes on to metal, then cut out . I also had to drill out where the bolts would go through to mount it in later.   (Remember , this isn't any special metal, just from the side of an un-used oven)
