| As Vancouver is the only city of the month collection that I've yet to have had any physical familiarity with, if you're curious, here's an anecdote. Though it's kinda poor, 'cause at the heart of it, it's simply the template of all my experiences in every city I've ever been. For instance, I wish I'd have experienced more of Stanley Park, or maybe the Lions Gate Bridge, or remembered more about hanging out with the Totem Poles. In any case, as the bulk of my time in Vancouver consisted of the following... My memory of Vancouver entails sitting on the beach ("wreck beach" in the south of the city), drinking cans of a limited supply of "Pilsener" pilsner, while my friends frequented the topless girls who stood at every point selling their ganja cookies. These were pleasant times with the exception of two things-the walk up the hill from the sandy bottom every day was very steep and involved cutting through giant ferns, and Pilsener was not sold in Vancouver (incidentally, all of this happened at a time when Keith's [a local beer of Nova Scotia] was the exclusive pride of Nova Scotia, and long before the time of Keddy's [a horrible Canadian motel chain] going out of business.) Thanks for the city-a gem in "Beautiful British Columbia" -Jason (jaybird) Redden Read Jaybird's blog here |
