hello and welcome once again to the city of the monththe north american obsession continues this month as we move northeast to the noble seafaring city of

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA

halifax is the second city of the month that i have actually been to, and although i dont recommend going before may (it is freezing), i can say without a doubt it is the nicest city in the atlantic provinces (which really does not do it justice)unfortunately I do not have the pictures from that trip so we will have to rely on websites for that infoand the search begins at

http://www.halifax.ca/

this is the regional municipality site and includes a visitors section with a menu for everything from museums, to tours, to nightlifethere is even a section for residents if you want to see how you too can be part of the good maritime lifeanother good site is

http://www.halifaxinfo.com/

another good informative sitewant pictures?

is just one of the sites where you can find them

http://www.angelfire.com/me/justanotherpage/hfx.html

is a personal webpage by a proud resident and is a great site for everything including links to the halifax herald and cbc nova scotiaand finally the halifax international airport page can be located at

http://www.hiaa.ca/

and as an added treat, the quote of the month is from an actual atlantic proventeer (i just made that word up)take that ontario! (and neil young!)...see you next monthand as always, for further info dont forget to check out the website http://www.cityofthemonth.com

ontario, y'know i've seen a place i'd rather be
your scummy lakes and city of toronto don't do a damn thing for me
i'd rather live by the sea
down on the farm, back among the family, away from ontario
hear the ladies singing to their men, dancing it heel and toe
and watching the apples grow
