Donation Information
Kyle has come to medicine rather circuitously.  As an undergraduate, he majored in Neuropsychology and Philosophy.  Shortly after graduating, he set about selling his belongings for a backpack and a one-way ticket across the Atlantic. He has been interested in global relief efforts since his first involvement in working with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

Kyle was first introduced to the joy of working with humanitarian organizations during his personal pilgrimage from London to Calcutta (1994-1995).  He feels fortunate that he was able to work with Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team
(AMURT) both in Eastern Europe and Eastern India. His efforts involved the construction of an orphanage outside of Bucharest Romania, and later, with the distribution of food, clothing, and medical supplies in the eastern state of Bihar, India.  He was also able, during this time to meet Mother Theresa at her home in Kolkata, shortly before her death the following year. Kyle, therefore, has taken much inspiration not only from those who live in desperate need of physical, medical, and emotional assistance, but also from those in a position to assuage the suffering of many.

Kyle is now interested in learning more about the medical aspect of universal relief and hopes to supplement his academic medical education with other aspects of medical education. He hopes to learn for example, more about bedside diagnostic skills, medical semiology, and Infectious Diseases while in the field. He welcomes any opportunity to learn about diseases that are not typically encountered in the states. Kyle hopes that his personal path will allow him to combine his understanding of the global necessity and responsibility of universal medical relief, with his own undergraduate medical education. Kyle believes that others will find this endeavor as rewarding as he does, and he is dedicated to helping those who share this ambition realize their goals.
