The Study used a projected population for the year 2023 of 2,850 people to calculate anticipated water requirements. Using these numbers, some concerns raised were the need for additional water supply, treatment and storage. They will finalize the study and have more definite recommendations after the first of the year. Mike Jennings reported Well # 1 was back in service after having the motor replaced for the fourth time by Northway Well & Pump. On motion by Carbaugh, second by Gilson, council voted to approve payment of the balance due Northway in the amount of $6,069.90. Ayes: Jacobsen, Gilson and Carbaugh. Nays: none. Motion carried. Evergreen Apartments would like to add additional off street parking on the north side of their property. This would require the installation of 12" culvert with two inlets to allow proper storm water drainage. This would provide an additional six to eight parking spaces. All cost would be the responsibility of Evergreen Apartments. On motion by Jacobsen, second by Gilson, council voted to approve the request. Aye: Carbaugh Gilson, and Jacobsen. Nay: none. Motion carried On motion by Carbaugh, second by Gilson, council voted to give city employees; Cathy Becker, Mike Jennings and Dick Lange a Holiday Bonus of $150.00 each. Aye: Carbaugh Gilson, and Jacobsen. Nay: none. Motion carried The clerk read a letter from ECICOG requesting the City approve their participation in a study the DNR is doing on solid waste and recycling programs. The study will help with the program changes that will take place July 1, 2003. Council voiced their approval. On motion by Carbaugh, second by Jacobsen, the council voted to authorize Mayor Steffen to sign renewal papers for leasing the Round House area from Benton County. Aye: Carbaugh Gilson, and Jacobsen. Nay: none. Motion carried There being no further business, on motion by Carbaugh, second by Jacobsen, Council voted to adjourn. Aye: Carbaugh, Gilson and Jacobsen. Nay: none. Motion carried.
