| This months topic: WHAT WERE YOU WEARING 5 YEARS AGO? Denim, denim and even more denim! Did you know that in 1999 we were all into the denim skirt. Things havent changed much except for the hemlines now its a mini! Boot Value. Boots are still a staple in our shoe closets. Whether it be a knee-high, ankle-length, or your fave Doc Martens, we are still bound to have a pair either in black or brown in our closets, especially for those rainy days. Cargo skirts! There was the long one, the above-the-knee one and the mid calf one! And Im sure we all have that army top to match that cute cargo skirt. Theyre perfect when you want to wear a skirt but not look too girly. All that glitters is gold thats how Smash Mouths bare naked song went, but body glitter and even lip glitter is still as big a thing now as it was then. Whether it be for the prom or a gimmick with the girls, we all enjoy putting a little on for an extra shine. The Wedge. Thanks to the Spice Girls we all went wedge crazy the higher the better. This is one trend that chose to stay; most wedge shoes are still quite fashionable, except for the really chunky, exaggerated styles. Going Bohemian: Yes we were all in love with peasant tops and just last year they seemed to have resurrected from the dark recesses of our closets! Together with the peasant top were swarovski crystals and beads, beads and even more beads. Just when we thought the peasant top was out, it came back, which is a lesson to be learned for those who thought it would never make a comeback -=- keep some of those bohemian and retro stuff just in case they do decide to resurface! Lip Balm: The basic beauty necessity! Weve loved it ever since we found out it would make our lips look a whole lot more kissable. Whether it be flavored or tinted, no girls purse would be complete without it. Jackets. Aside from keeping us warm, these rain protectors have become a fashionable item. From the denim jacket to the athletic hoodie to the leather jacket and to the classy New York-inspired trenchcoat, these rain buddies have added a statement to our dressing style.
