| How I came across my breed stock: I was lucky enough to come across a real nice man named Bob Boyce who was ordering some chicks from a hatchery that was local to him. He had ordered too many and askd me if I would like to buy some from him. I ended up paying around $3 a chick and got 12 chicks from him (2 roosters & 10 hens). |
| White Leghorns lay large white eggs. But the hens are of a medium size, weighing in at around 5lbs average; giving you the advantage of smaller feed bills. Also this breed is known to be very fast growing. Hens usally start laying at the age of 4 months. I would consider the parents of these SQ or they could make a very nice 4-H project for your children. |
