Whipped! WHIPPED!

Totally boring record without any real musical standouts. Faster Pussycat practices a very sound and steady mid-tempo glam, and does so without surprises or conviction. Groovy beat-funk a la Aerosmith, which as I've gathered is their "thang", also mixing in some Axl Rose vocals every so often. I really tried, but I couldn't find anything here that stood out or got me doing more than tapping my feet (toes, really). Not untalented or effeminate like your average Cinderella, just boring. The rock heaviness gets subdued by pushy funk waaay too often, and songs like Big dictionary and Loose booty have little metal worth, if any. The lyrics are kinda witty ("She just loves me for my big dick...tionary!"), but not enough to save it as a unit. And really, if the music is weak or sleepy, no lyrics can make it interesting. They don't seem to take themselves very seriously, but by the time I noticed that I'd already lost interest in the music. There are two songs here I dig (to a minor degree), the GNRish opener and an acoustic little dittie called Friends. The rest I can't remember, and quite frankly, don't wanna. Watered down something, Aerosmith I guess, which isn't a very flattering label from where I stand. I suppose this is kinda okay listening when you're doing something else, but don't expect many of the qualities we usually associate with heavy metal.
