Gvle-based thrash onslaught with death pretentions, and in my opinion, not a very exciting such. There's no info about this band on the web whatsoever, and I wonder if anyone but me has ever heard of them. Well, maybe because there's isn't really much to save for the afterworld here. Riff-lost thrash guitars mixed with a poorly enraged death agenda leaves a band with little thrill and even less kill. If you're gonna play thrash, you need the riffs. If your gonna play death, you need the convincing fury. In both cases, you need some of the other. This band has little of either, and quite frankly, I think they're boring. I hate saying that about well-intentional countrymen, but the critic in me is stronger.

LAY IT TO REST

Not much to say really, I find very little exhilarating about this release. I can't even say I dislike it, I just don't care for the most part. This album wants to be death, but lacks something I can't quite put my finger on. Guitars are somewhat similar to Puppets-era Metallica, and well mixed, not saying they are nearly as intoxicating. They aren't, they're just...there. I also noticed some directly stolen Anthrax and Slayer riffs in there somewhere (Traumatic depressive lunacy = Angel of death). The problem is that everything here is just so stale and emotionless. There's neither heart-burn NOR rage. Just shoulder-shruggers, okay when you're doing something else, but little more. Lead vocalist Jacob is not the worst of growlers, yet his voice seem to clash with the music. Can be the result of robotic delivery or the fact that his voice is too growly for thrash metal and too hearable for death. In the title track he sings with a normal voice, but by then it seems like a futile attempt aimed at something I don't quite fetch. Still, I have nothing against him, and my indifference lies mainly in the lack of musical innovation and nay-saying riffs within. It's not without some decent rockers though. Jaws of lust and Possessed being what stand out of the swamp of averageness. Not much, but they mosh at least a little. Apart from that, there's nothing I haven't heard before, with more interesting results, so I'll just pass this one and lay it to rest.
