You enter the immaculate lab, surprised even by lab standards how sterile it is. On the center table is an object resembling a lunch tray, covered in white material. On it rests two shapes, though very small, and equine in shape.
You stride over, squinting slightly in the harsh light. You pull up a plastic white stool, and sit, looking down onto the tray. The two equines peer up at you, their eyes bright and shining, but lacking something that was in all the others. Suddenly a message appears on the clean white surface.
Welcome, young one. These our our Arafels, the brown stallion Koudo, Earth, and the lovely perlino mare Shinjukai, Mother of Pearl. While they are not sentient, they are highly intelligent, so please treat them kindly.

The stallion eyes you, flicking his short tail, and you only notice when he turns his head that he has a white face blaze. The mare truly is a beauty, and dainty, with her soft pinkish fur and long silky mane, etherial wings, and dark, glittering eyes. She seems to be very quiet and shy, while the stallion is very curious and outgoing, for he trots right up to your hand, which is resting on the table, and climbs up one of your fingers, whinnying adventureously. You peer down at him as he gallops along the table edge, occasionally climbing onto your hand as the mare watches on in silence. After a time, the stallion grows tired of his little game and goes to explore something else, such as the potted fern to your right. You rise stiffly from the stool, and with a final backward glance at the little creatures, leave the building.
