| MY TIME HAS COME |
Mega sat comfortably on a table with taisan. �Want a dance� he looked at her funnily �I guess not� she finished. �Shame I hoped I could have spotted the rest of the mallrats� she said looking around worried Mega huffed �that�s because they�ve been captured. If they left the mall like I told them to� he growled then lowered his tone �sceptical idiots serves them -� he stopped short as he saw the hurt, angry look on taisan�s face. �Don�t talk about them like that its not there fault� �That they are a questionable bunch� mega jeered �What did you expect, that they�d would have just upped and leave like that. We � well you came and took over the city taking away love ones forgive them for not being so trusting� she snapped then angrily got up �Taisan� mega called out after her but she ignored him and soon disappeared into the crowds. He growled and played with his glasses frustratingly. He saw the bar got up to get a stiff drink. �Drink� he said to the barmaid �are you going to pay� the barmaid replied looking at the boy sitting on the chair. �This enough� he asked placing a shining coin on the bar. She took the coin and got him his drink. She placed a clear liquid drink on a tall a glass on the counter. She gave him an apologetic smile �sorry about that but I just had trouble from some girl� �Who� he asked politely though he wasn�t really interested �Oh some short girl who didn- �..� �Ebony� mega thought immediately. He couldn�t be sure of course but it�s was like he could smell her scent everywhere. �Right b!tch she was� the girl blabbed on �Which direction did she go in� mega asked standing up �erm� the bartended mumbled confused �I don�t know she disappeared before I -� but stopped as mega walked away �what about your drink� the barmaid called out after his fleeing body �you have it� he shouted back ~ ~ ~ Ved moaned as the guard pushed him on. He had unsuccessfully tried to joke around with a guard to get some information about the gathering but they had been tight lipped. But he had noticed a worryingly thing all the guards where wearing gas masks. He was sure that it meant trouble. He walked on trying relentlessly to move through the crowds and he soon got tired of saying excuse me and started using �move�, get out of the way� or �get a room� at the cuddling couples. He was heading for bar where ebony and May had both headed for earlier. His motion was cut of as his eyes spotted a raven-haired girl. A very familiar raven head girl. He couldn�t get the whole view of her face and was thankful when she turned her head slightly. His heart skipped a beat �cloe� he almost shouted but she didn�t hear him and walked away. He followed her figure, but was soon caught in a dance with all the city kids he was carried away helplessly and tried in vain to be released. �Cloe� he shouted but it was no use she was gone� ~ ~ ~ Ebony found a back table to seat at making sure she wasn�t in the view of the bar. She placed her drink on the table and looked once again at the decorations. It sure was beautiful. As she admired her surroundings she suddenly did a double take as she spotted a memorable face. She could feel her blood warming and her fists clenching. �Spike� she growled slowly. He was standing on the banister on top of the stairs which where at the corner of the hall. She briefly turned away from him and tried to calm herself. When she turned back he was gone. She stood up and searched the hall for where he could have gone but the crowds bombarded her view. She moved past the crowd and growled in frustration, as a group of kids had decided to make another part of the hall a dancing spot. She finally got to the stairs and made her way up. She pulled her hood up so she could be as conspicuous as possible. She walked through a corridor slowly, unknowing to her that curious eyes where watching her. ~ ~ ~ �This was pointless his no where to be found. I�m never going to see my son again am I� amber cried jay immediately moved closer to her and patted her reassuringly �this wasn�t I thought would had been planned either but there�s always hope� he encouraged �My hope is fading fast� said amber feeling clearly beaten �zoots not even here this is just a big party� she throw up her hands frustrated. �He might still come I mean we just got here� she shook her head �lets question the guards� he suggested �we already tried that they just ignored us we�ve brought to much attention to ourselves already� she indicated to one of the guards looking at then �its hopeless� tears began to flow freely. �Your stronger than this amber don�t give up� She got up so did he �lets go zoots not coming� He placed a hand on her shoulder �are you sure� she nodded they made their way to the exit �wait let me inform mega that I�m taking you back� said jay stopping. �I�ll wait here� he nodded and set off to look for him. ~ ~ ~ I stayed slightly back from her. I was surprised though I didn�t know why to see her here. I touch the stair rail lightly as I walked up. I had spotted her seating on a table alone. And I had to rub my glasses to make sure it was indeed her. Her appearance had changed radically. She wore all green which I thought was a quaint choice. It went well those green eyes of hers. She had been looking at something or someone and headed for the stairs. She turned a corner I stopped by it until she entered another staircase at the end of the corridor I quickly followed making sure I wasn�t seen. I took a quick glance up, she had reach the top and gone through a door � I guessed it led to the roof. I followed I pushed the door open slowly I peeked my head out. The wind blowing my hair as I walked out fully through the door. I walked further down the roof and was confused when I couldn�t see her. ~ ~ ~ �Now if I wasn�t mistaken I�ll say you were following me� mega jumped the second time that night. He turned round to see ebony standing directly behind him. He smiled �I wouldn�t say you�re that off the mark� he replied. She moved closer to him. She had sensed that someone was following her she had thought it was spike at first and had ran to the side of the door waiting for the person to come through the door. She had recognised the person immediately. The dark skin, the infamous glasses, the tall frame but the person wasn�t in their usual uniform. She had admired the outfit it was a nice change. �Can I ask why�? He smirked also closing the gap �Isn�t it obvious ebony you�re so appealing�? She pfft and walked to the edge of the roof placing her hands on the support railings. There where still kids hanging around in the front �So why are you here� she said her back to him. �I�m here on business,� said mega standing to her side �Would this business have anything to do with me�? �If only I�m sure it would be much more pleasurable� she smiled despite herself. But it was time to go she had wasted enough time here with him, she had an agenda now find spike. �Going so fast I thought we could talk� he called to her as she walked back to the door. �I thought you had business to intend to� �I can spare some time if the companies right� she stopped and looked back at him �And is it� he looked her up and down �Perfect� he saw that she was a little taken back by his forwardness and so was he. It must have been the drink-perfumed air. �Well I�m sorry to disappoint you mega but I do have business of my own� she finally replied �shame� he said resting on the rails and she began to walk again but stopped as mega shouted out something that hit a raw nerve in her �Would it have anything to do with spike�? She turned round slowly fighting to compos her face. She was surprised, well more shocked that he still remembered his name. She hated that she had let slip his name. Spike was her secret � her problem. He walked up to her and bent his head to take a closer look at her face he could tell he had hit a nerve, he wanted to say something to stop her fleeing and had blurted out spikes name and it worked. She was looking for him. he opened his mouth to speak�. �Who�s there� ebony and mega both looked up startled as they saw two armed guards peering through the roof door. It was a bit dark and they hadn�t noticed them yet. �What�s going on there�? She immediately recognised that voice it was spike. �Shit� she cursed she was dead meat. As soon as spike saw her he�d waste her. She was preparing herself for the confrontation as the two loco guards and spike walked fully out of the roof door that she didn�t realise that mega was slowly bending his head down. She gasped as his lips met hers. She was about to protest but realised what he was trying to do. His lips enveloped her in a warm kiss and she found herself strangely enough responding to him. �You two this is closed quarters� the guards said but they kept on kissing �you two� spike spoke �go kiss out in the hall this quarter is closed to the public� they stopped. They looked at each other numb, out of breath briefly - he then wrapped his arms around her and she made sure to shield her face in his arms as they walked back down to the hall. �That was a close call,� said mega breaking the uncomfortable silence as they walked back down to the hall. Ebony untangled herself from his arms and looked at him �too close for comfort� she said and walked off. ~ ~~ I was about to follow her but chose not to. I had got more than I had bargained for. I always got a strange feeling when I was with her. I knew I was threading on dangerous grounds. After all I let her believe jay was dead and if jay knew my intentions � I stopped. Even I didn�t know my emotions. But when I was with her just then�. I raised a finger to lips and touched it remembering the kiss. My emotions just flowed - I couldn�t help it� ~ ~ ~ I walked to hall entrance �stupid mega� I cursed. I still couldn�t believe remembered his name. I scolded myself again for being so foolish to let out his name that day. But my head was all over the place still I didn�t want anyone finding what went on between me and spike. Lex nearly had and I didn�t like the look he gave me, the feeling that he had the upper hand. And I didn�t want pitying looks. I laughed at myself solemnly. No one ever pitied me. But the shame of any one knowing would be unbearable. I put a hand to my chest I realised that my heart was racing. That was an eventful period � but seeing spike today made me realised that I could never be at rest again until spike he was dealt with. One of us had to die and I chose him. I looked back up to the banister where spike was previously standing. I was about to turn when I noticed two loco guards carrying a large metal object into a room. It looked like a bomb. �Bomb� I gasped out. Then I suddenly clocked. I looked around the hall everyone was here. The demon dogs, the gulls, mosquitoes�. The gathering was a plan to wipe out all the opposition. I scowled myself for not guessing sooner. I then noticed for the first time that the mallrats weren�t here. They would have probably been the first tribe here preachy democracy. Then I remembered part of zoots agenda, bring all the relevant opposition to his side and wipe out the rest. The mallrats must have been wiped out. I don�t know why but I got a sinking feeling. The rats where gone� I had to get out of here before they did the same to me. I took out a bleeper from my jacket pocket. Ved had devised it so that when there was trouble it�d alert everyone and we�d bail. I pushed a small black button on it. It flashed twice indicating that it worked. I sighed and walked out of the hall. I hope the guards won�t stop me from going out, but the ones by the door had gone. As I walked outside I noticed that there weren�t no guards around anymore, I looked up to the roof the guards there where now gone too. I hugged my jacket tighter and began to walk quickly away from the area to where we parked the vehicles. ~ ~ ~ �I�m taking amber back to the stadium� said jay as he and mega walked towards the exit. �The rest of the guys have already made there way outside zoots not here this was a waste of time� said jay �Tell me about its been one big party� mega replied. They where almost out of the hall when they heard an explosion they turned around and watched in horror as the huge disco ball in the middle of the hall fell on the floor, the scattering glass hitting some people, but what was strange was when a puff of smoke came out. �Run� jay yelled soon everyone was screaming and trying to make there way out of the building. �Amber there you are� said jay hugging her close and leading her away from the building �what happened� she asked �Who knows we have to get out of here?� said mega and they ran away from the hall. They stopped at the end of the road for breath, they could hear screaming kids rampaging through the streets. Mega looked back at the city hall. It was a strange kind of explosion no fires or black smoke like the hotel had. Just a deadly white puff of smoke. Something wasn�t right� ~ ~ ~ ~ In the night midst two hooded figures can be seen talking in front of a damaged house both faces as anxious as the other. �When are we going to get rid of her?� one hissed �It�ll take time� the other muttered, �I want her to suffer like I have� �She�s taken over and he�s just let her -� the first one mumbled clearly disturbed by the person in question. �Don�t let a stupid crush lead you to foolish actions� the figure took a quick glance at the sky, a glimpse of determination on their face and spoke boldly �revenge is one thing but sweet revenge is another��. ~ ~ I ran non-stop till I sighed and collapsed on the head of a vehicle, pleased that I had finally reached my destination. I looked around sat on the car bonnet trying to regain my breath. I got into a defensive stance as I heard someone jogging my way. I heave a sigh as I saw mays figure. �I got your bleep,� she breathed resting on the bonnet �just on time there was some explosion as I left� I nodded �I heard the bang�. We both got in a defensive stance as we saw a group coming our way. We sighed again as we noticed the rest of the veds coming back, ved not flagging far behind them a unhappy look on his face I decided I�d quiz him about it as soon as we to the villa and jumped into one of the vehicles, may sat next to me and we made our escape from the area, the rest of the veds behind us anyone of us not wanting to stay in the area any longer. ~ ~ �I want the whole place on full alert� mega boomed as he marched hastily in the stadium. He walked into his office and immediately began pacing up and down not able to rest. �I�m going to take amber to her room� he nodded to jay and amber who where standing outside his door and forced himself to sit down. His heart was racing. He hated surprises, especially ones he knew nothing about. His thoughts started to collide �but you aren�t supposed to know about them that�s why there surprises�. He shook his head frustrated �that�s why hate them� he murmured. The blast wasn�t the only thing on his mind taisan was missing. He had immediately made his way back to the stadium as soon as he reached the meet point and had thought taisan wasn�t far behind. He had realised that she was missing as he had reached the stadium and had immediately taken his anger out on the rest of the tecs. He had stormed upstairs shouting out orders to try to calm himself. He hated not being in control. He stood up relieved as taisan walked into his office and was about to shout at her for not being at the meet point when she collapsed in his arms giving out a bad cough. He laid her on the floor and examined her not quite knowing what he was looking for. Her face was colourless and she had sweat glands trickling from her face. �Taisan what happened� she gave out a small moan. �Oh there she is� he turned to the door as hasley was came in �she ran like a maniac through the halls saying she had no time left and needed to see you� �Taisan� mega called out again but she was out cold �did she say anything else� Hasley nodded �no, but I think it has something to do with that white smoke� mega looked up at him immediately �everyone�s talking about it they say it went off like a bomb and seemed to consume the very air� He paused for breath as mega turned back to taisan, desperately trying to wake her up �it�s a shame ram died at the hotel we could really use his help right now� He backed towards the door as he saw the deadly look on mega�s face �I don�t� he growled �call for Pandora quickly� hasley left swiftly. Mega returned his attentions back to taisan. It couldn�t be the fever he thought, hasley was right it must had been that white smoke. He hoped Pandora could help her, apart from taisan she was the next best thing they had to a good doctor. He felt so guilty wishing he hadn�t been so cold with her at the party. He wished he hadn�t been so preoccupied with ebony. He wished � he sighed he wished she�d be okay�. ~ ~ The veds all exited their vehicles, and made their way into the villa. �Ved� ebony called out searching for the blonde boy. �Over here� he coughed voice hoarse �what�s wrong� ebony looked at him his face was flushed. He gave out random coughs. Ebony patted his back concerned. She led him into the villa and laid him on the couch. Where he had another coughing fit. �Someone find orien� she ordered �its just a cough� ved insisted when he finally stopped, he opened his mouth to talk again but instead coughed. May knelt down beside him. �He�s coughing blood� she looked at ebony who in turn looked at the pigment of blood on his palms. �Orien� she bellowed racing through the villa looking for her� �She�s not in,� Clara a ved pointed out. �His past out� may yelped as ebony came back in the room and quickly rushed to his side �Is he dead� Clara squeaked from across the room too scared to come close. Ebony stared at veds pale face. He was sweating uncontrollably�. She looked at them all of them baffled with perplexed faces �not yet� she murmured ~ ~ �How is she� mega asked as jay walked into his office. �Pandora�s managed to stable her but we don�t know what�s wrong with her� he sighed he had taken taisan to her bed and left Pandora to take care of her. �It�s got to be fault of that white smoke it�s the only explanation� he laid back further on his sit thinking �So zoot did have a plan after all� said jay and leaned on one of the desks �we should had been more alert� jay sighed playing with his temple. �It must be another form of the virus�? Mega suggested. Jay looked at him surprised by the idea. He�d never had even contemplated that �what no � do you think!� he gushed �That�s what the city kids will think� mega leaned forward �he�s got us right where he wants us� �Everyone would want a cure, we would be at his mercy� mega nodded in agreement �but he�s only given it to the people who where at the gathering-� �That we know of � no wonder the guards where wearing those oxygen mask� he stood up �it�ll only be a matter of time till the whole city is filled with the white smoke� They both looked at each other considering the idea. Jay looked at mega, a nervous look shown on his face �what if we have it already�� ~~~ ~At The tower~ Jack positioned himself comfortably on a sofa and watched as zoot paced up and down the room angrily and hoped he wouldn�t take his anger out on him. He watched fascinated as he lost his cool exterior and the hotheadedness� shown through. He sat up straight as spike came into the room a huge grin on the face. It immediately turned upside down as he caught the look on zoots face. In the blink of an eye zoot was already in front of his face gazing angrily at him. �Ebony is alive WHY� he barked. Spike steadily backed off clearly confused �alive nooo� he held his hands up �she�s dead. She died in the hotel� �Then explain why she was at the party� zoot growled �It must had been someone else there�s no way she survived that blast� he said determined not liking that his work was being questioned. Zoot looked at him sternly and sat himself down. He ran a hand through his hair aggravated. The night was going off without a hitch till he heard that ebony was still alive. She was like a walking time bomb every where she went came destruction, she was like an itch that could ever be scratched� he turned his attention to jack who was seating opposite him �So your saying jacks lying� Spike immediately acknowledged jack for the first time. He scowled at him. �You believe him� he spat �He�s left his glasses at home his seeing things.� He looked at zoot frustrated that he could actually listen to jack �he�s delusional ebony�s� dead I made sure of that.� zoot continued to look and jack, waiting for his reply. �I � I know what I saw there was no mistaking it� he reassured him �Then why didn�t you notify someone to have her caught�? Spike growled trying to shift the blame �I did but it was too late she had already gone� he snapped, �Anyway If you had done your job properly in the first place she would be dead�. Spike grimaced. �That�s right if you did the job properly I wouldn�t have this problem�, zoots voice boomed; he got up and looked through the circular windows and continued speaking �and it gets better� he turned to spike �ved was seen as well there working together� spike stood frozen not knowing what to say �they must be found and executed understand� zoot finished looking at both jack and spike. They both nodded and exited quickly... ~ ~ �Put this in her drink only a small amount� the figure held out a small glass containing a white liquid �We don�t want her dying immediately� she grinned as the other took it and quickly placed it in her pocket. �She has to suffer first understand orien�. She nodded �One dose I get it java� orien tightened her arms round her jacket and prepared to move on. She�d been out for while now and was worried that some of the veds would start to suspect. �When do we meet again� she asked �don�t worry I�ll find you� java replied. She looked at the sky, it was getting late and she had one more person to meet that night. She began to walk, oriens� fleeing figure already running down the street... ~ ~ �His breathing is thin� may whispered, �He�s not going to make it� she peered at ebony who was frantically pacing. She kept glancing at the double windows for any sign of orien. She stood up confused as ebony began reaching for her long hooded black coat. �Where are you going?� she asked, as ebony was nearly out the door �to look for a doctor� was all she said and she was gone. May immediately crouch down to veds side as she heard him give out a desperate gasp. She ran to the door to see of she could catch ebony before she left, but was dismayed as she saw her speeding in a car in the distance. She ran back to veds side. Clara was trying to hold his limp head steady. He seemed to be moaning some words now �cloe� was all she could make out. She put a hand on his head it was blazing. She looked at him hard, thoughts pondering on what to do. Her thoughts went to taisan and she immediately got the help of Clara to help ved in a car, they sped off in one of the vehicles leaving a message behind saying they where going to the city stadium. ~~~ Ebony ducked underneath some trashcans as she saw a group of zoots men near the city centre where the gathering had been held. She stayed there trying to stay as inconspicuous as possible. She didn�t care for what they where doing as she might had been if this was some other night as her trains of thoughts where elsewhere such as trying to find a doctor in the useless city. She was about to carry on in her search. But stayed, as she familiarised her self with a red head. She focused her eyes as much as she could with the little light. �Jack� she spoke softly. She crawled forwards hands gently touching the stone ground. He turned his head, and the moon gave enough light for her to see his face. It was he. Again if this were any night she would have thought he had been captured by the locos� and was trying to bargain for his life. But this was not any night strange things had been happening and this seemed to be one of them. Instead of begging on knees for his freedom like she thought anyone would had done in this situation jack seemed to be giving them orders of some sort. She ducked her head down as she heard a vehicle come down the street. It sounded heavy she took a chance peek and saw a fire engine come to a halt where jack and his men stood. They immediately got hold of the hose and began spraying the area. But instead of water coming out of the pipes some sort of weird steam flew through. It was nothing like the white smoke that had escaped from the town hall so she didn�t think she had anything to fear. What where they up to� She noticed that jack was moving further away from the group. He had some gadget in his hand and seemed to be taking in the area. He was coming towards her and with every step he took she crawled back. She felt a gap it was an entrance and she quickly slid inside it and watched as jack walked past in front of her. She looked back at the other loco�s they seemed to busying themselves with their spraying. �Well I came looking for some sort of doctor� she mumbled to herself. And with that she quickly pranced on him and used all her strength to bring him down. Which she did with some hassle? She quickly knocked him out, with the weapon he was carrying and began as quietly as she could dragging his motionless body to her buggy which she was thankful she didn�t park to far away. �Very heavy for a skinny guy aren�t you jack,� she groaned as she pulled him up to the passenger seat with all her strength. She drove off quickly back to the villa, she looked through the rear view mirror wary as she heard jacks name being called out behind her. ~~~ �What do you want� may and Clara stood firm as four techno�s came towards them, fieriness in their eyes. �We need some help� �Go get it elsewhere� one of tecs replied and they felt themselves being pushed back towards their vehicle. �Wait� may turned relieved as she recognised the voice �jay� she whimpered �may what are you doing here� she indicated to the buggy. She watched as jays face fell as he came face to face with his younger brother. It looked like he was fighting his thoughts and for a moment thought he was going to send them away. But was thankful as he ordered some techno�s to take ved in quickly� ~~~ �What took you so long� java watched as her companion finally arrived at their meeting point. �I had other business to attend to� she walked closer to stand by his side �Why didn�t you tell me about tonight� she looked at him confused �What about tonight� she gave a short gasp as she grabbed her arm �don�t lie every one knows, the cloud of smoke the immediate sickness it gives to any one who breathes it in� She forced her arm out of his strong grasp and nursed her slightly bruised skin. �I didn�t know anything like that was going to happen� �Don�t lie to me java� he growled �why would I, what would I gain in loosing you� she looked at him as he contemplated that idea his face didn�t soften. She decided to change the subject to her more favourable topic �Have you seen her?� she asked. He expression changed knowing whom she was on about �no� he mumbled. �I still haven�t found her� He looked at her grinning face �it seems fate is in our hands� she spoke circling him �what do you mean� �The wandering warrior landed at a familiar house� he raised his eyebrows �I know where she is, and she�s going to get what�s coming to her� He didn�t reply but looked at her gravely �Your obsessed� he said finally. She was taken aback by the comment and moved back slightly as he continued to speak �Instead of wasting our resources on her, you should have concentrate more on zoot then we�d probably had known about tonight�s plans� �I�m not wasting resources� she answered agitated �the only resource I have is me while you have the whole techno�s at your disposals. You�ve left me depleted� �What else could I have done? Let you show your face back in there. Everyone hates you, having you in command would bring too much disruption� he stepped closer to her �I warned you not to get to close to ram. Your foolish e-� She interrupted �I don�t need you to preach to me� He held his hands up �fine� he started to walk off �where are you going� she called after him he stopped. �I didn�t think the conversation was over� �We have nothing left to discuss you know the plan find out information. Information is the key� �Don�t worry I�m working on that I�ve found someone that could be of use� �Anyone I know� She smiled �I doubt it� �When do we meet again� she said quickly as he walked off �don�t worry I�ll find you� She stared at his retreating back and she smiled as she remembered that those where the same words she had used on orien. She turned and began to walk in the opposite direction. To the rest of the world she was a dead corpse punished as ram for her crimes against the city.
