When you come to realize that scholorship opportunities will arise in the home stretch to college, you will most likely dive into volunteer work. I as well, took up the task with afternoon hours of library work. The main task in my first weeks there was to shelve books in the new book section, which I took to advently. Soon after starting up, I was given a tour of the place by a staff member so that I knew the whole library, and consequently, could shelve the entire place. One other good thing I learned about in the back areas was where to store my drinks via the staff lounge too! I have about 67 hours left to go to fill my 75 hour quota for the Bright Futures program, and still I have to retake the SATs and get about a 1280, but I'm ready to take it on. Going to the library Mondays and Thursdays is a grand experience in a way, as it's a training for when I get a real job during my senior year. |
