One Side Of The Coin...
Two years and one campany merge later, the newly Squarenix released the sequel to the original Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, and broke the cycle of the "anti-direct" sequel style of all previous Final Fantasy installments.  The basic plot revolves around Yuna, Rikku, and a new character Paine as a team of spherehunters each journeying for their own reasons.  Everything in this game is sphere influenced, from the recycling system of job class as dressspheres, to the mini-game spherebreak!

With a new, more revealing outfit, the main heroine Yuna hunts for spheres all over Spira for clues to reuniting with her love Tidus-who disapeered along with the Aoens as the dream of the faith faded away at the end of X.  Some differences between this and the previous game includes:  the second is less serious in atmosphere, the second seems more political with New Yevon and the Youth League, it only has three team members the ENTIRE game, and one great feature of X-2 is the addition of new game plus mode.

All in all, if you liked the first one, the second wont disapoint you with graphics and the battle system is interesting even without overdrives this time around.  While the story may seem more feminine throughout, that's because it is a cast of females!  It's just a change of pace compared to the first, and worth picking up if you like to do lots of missions (after all, the game fills up under five chapters and percentage out of one hundred).  So go give it a shot, and expect to be kept busy for awhile!
