| THE VENGEFUL OVERCOAT After eleven years of marriage, Monica Pewsey had become so incensed by her husband�s irritating habits � which included wearing his overcoat indoors, sucking his teeth during her favorite TV programs, and playing �Michael Row the Boat Ashore� on a length of vacuum cleaner hose. � that she decided enough was enough and shot him twice in the back. Mr. Pewsey was fatally wounded but at the trail Monica pleaded temporary insanity, serving just three years for her husband�s murder. On a shopping excursion shortly after her release from prison, Monica was caught in the crossfire during an armed bank raid and was killed by two stray bullets. She was wearing her husband�s coat and it later transpired that the buckets that had killed Monica had passed through the holes made by the bullets that killed her husband three years earlier. |
