DOUBLE DUTCH

Although Utah-born Kay Taylor began talking at just three months, per parents became disheartened when not one word of what she said made sense. Their baby would sit contentedly in her room verbalizing her thoughts in a senseless stream of gibberish.
The Taylors became sufficiently concerned to seek professional help and summoned the local doctor. Within minutes he had diagnosed the problem the Taylors couldnt understand their daughter because she was speaking Dutch. But young Kay had never met anyone form Holland, so how had she learned the language?
Alarmed by their daughters inexplicable linguistic skill, the Taylors refused to let anyone see her. As Kay began to learn English, the Dutch she had once known disappeared and, by the age of two, she had no recollection of the language and the opportunity to discover what she had been saying was lost forever.
