AWESOME STORIES
This page is great for engaging students with the details and stories behind historical events. It touches on famous trials, biographies, events, disasters, etc. It is reputable and gives the more ‘human’ or emotional perspective to the information; a great engaging tool for the classroom.

NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR SOCIAL STUDIES
It is the largest and oldest association (1921) built for social studies Education, and provides an articulated K-12 social studies program that serves as a framework for the integration of other national standards in social studies, including U.S. and world history, civics and government, geography, global education, and economics.

LESSON PLANS
This is a very basic lesson plan vault; it has countless history and social studies lesson plans, and a lot of links to others as well. It is simple, no-nonsense, and informative.
