Award Winning Alternatively-Fueled Vehicle...The K1 Attack

At the Academy for Automotive and Mechanical Engineering our goal is to help students find themselves. We use the automobile as a training tool for math, science, history, and English, as well as the repair industry for vehicles. Our goal includes preparing students for college, technical school, or in some cases the industry. Because of the growing need for auto technicians in this country many dealerships are willing to hire students directly out of high school if they maintained good grades and can show an interest in learning. We understand that not all students are bound for college or trade school, so we prepare them for work as well.

These are some web sites I use as training tools in our academy.

Discovery Times

This is a great site for current events and different interesting topics from around the world.

50 States

This is a good site for a fun project for finding out where the states are located on the map and how many miles away you are from the proper placing of the state.  This is perfect for a geography lesson of the United States.

Safety and  Pollution Prevention

This is an excellent training sight for an automotive bound student. The student learns the importance of being aware of our environment and how his or her actions in the auto shop can destroy it. The proper procedures are taught and the evaluations are complete and on target. After completing the training and the evaluations the student is awarded a nationally accepted certificate of completion.

 Colonial Williamsburg

This web site is another great link to American history during the revolutionary times in Williamsburg Virginia. This site makes for a great virtual field trip back in time to the days of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and our country gaining our independence from England.

Bridging World History

This web site is a teacher resource, it has free videos and covers the majority of all academic subjects from K-12. It also has printable handouts for classroom use.
