We will be covering two major authors
throughout this course. I am sure most of you have already been exposed
to
William Shakespeare
and
Edgar Allen Poe. In
this course we will be reading prose, plays, poems by these infamous
authors but will not be limited to them only.
Not only will you be responsible to keep up with the readings, but we
will also be writing a number of essays, in-class writings, and
reflections. Therefore, it is absolutely imperative that you not only
read, but
follow along
and
understand
everything we are doing.
I am
ALWAYS here to
help so please feel free to ask questions or come see me after class.
It seems like a lot of work, but believe me we're going to have fun too!
Below I am going to list
five
websites that will definitely be useful throughout this course. As long
as you have this website, you'll
NEVER be able to use the
excuse that you forgot your book in your locker! A complete list of all
of Shakespeare's and Poe's works will be available through one of these
five links. (Believe me I thought of everything!!!) Not only that, but
because both these authors are often hard to understand, these websites
go in depth where we may not have time in class.
Because we will also be writing some essays, there is also a website
that will help those of you who are a little intimidated by this
process. There is also an easy bibliography program that will help with
your works cited page. Please don't rely completely on it (but it is a
nice little shortcut most of the time)!
Good Luck! and remember, I'm
always here to help!
