Welcome to our Daycare!

My Own Philosophy

My Day Care will provide children ages 1 month old-8 years old with a safe and comfortable
environment to play and learn with loving guidance. This is a play based facility meaning that our
curriculum is integrated throughout the day using songs, story time, arts & craft activities,
poems during "circle-time", movie time, games, indoor play, outdoor play ( safety mats
are installed outside as safety is a
big  issue at this facility).

All children will have different activities depending upon their age group or intelligence level and will be
split  up accordingly when doing certain tasks. This is done with the best of intentions at heart. For one the
safety of the smaller children and also to teach your child how to socially interact with children that are his/her
own age group, so that when they become of age to go to school the transition will be much easier for them.
This does not mean that they will not be around children of different age groups. They will be taught to interact
appropriately with children of all ages.

We also provide children with fun days such as "theme days", occasional field trips and a
variety of other activities that will help to stimulate a child's cognitive, social-
emotional and physical development.

Things you will see at Aimee’s Family Day Care

Children will spend much of their time engaged in working with learning materials
and playing and interacting with other children.

I will work with your child in individual, small and whole group situations. All children have
different learning styles which work best for him/her and I will observe the children daily to
figure out which learning style works best for your child. I will then implement it into my lesson
plans. For Ex. I am a hands-on learner.

Children will have access to various activities throughout the day including: building
blocks, pretend play toys, books, play dough, crayons, puzzles, music, matching games,
movies or educational TV programs (used during quiet time),
educational computer games and much more.

Numbers, the Alphabet, Colors, Counting and Shape skills are taught throughout our
everyday experiences, songs, games and other activities are also implemented.

Children are asked to pretend and use their imaginations here so do not be surprised if your children
exhibits this type of behavior at home.

Children are encouraged to explore their world and develop at their own pace and interest level
emphasis is based on the process, NOT the product.

Because of the nature of this job, it is very easy for me to become attached to the
children in my child care "family".  I try my best to develop a good relationship with
parent and child so that we may become partners in the development of the child during
their stay at my daycare facility.

Links to websites children use at the daycare:

PBS KIDS
This site uses characters from the PBS TV shows  in combination with educational games to attract the child's interest.

Funbrain
This website provides children with educational games in which a parent or educator can actively participate in with the child. It is also a great resource for educators to use as an enhancement to their lesson plans.

National Geographic KIDS

I really like this site because it teaches children facts and interesting information about animals that share their world. This site is so educational and informative an adult can be taught a thing or two from it as well.

The Book Of Pooh
This site is aimed at teaching the children basic skills in general subject areas such as Math, Reading, and Spelling. This site also provides them with games that enhance memory skills, and art activities to make for a well rounded, intellectual  child.

Fisher-Price Little People
This site is aimed towards the younger children, which I like because it seems much easier for these children to manipulate and maneuver their way around the site independently. It also helps them gain knowledge when it comes to basic computer skills.
