- Answer the Self-Check questions given below
- Check your own answers for the Review Questions and Self-Check questions
- Ask questions if you need more information
To be graded:
- Complete the lab activity and submit the answers to the lab questions by email
- Check to be sure you receive a confirmation that your project was received. This confirmation will be sent to you at the email you used to send your project.
- You should not submit the next project until you have received your grade report.
Each project will include self-check study questions and a lab project. The lab project will often include an activity and questions to be answered. You are encouraged to review the reading materials and answer the self-check study questions. You are responsible for checking your own answers to the self-check study questions. This will give you an opportunity to see that you have an understanding of the important concepts for the project. It will also give you something to use as a study guide for the midterm and final exams. If you do not understand the answers given in the self-checks, it is important to seek help! The content of this course is cumulative. Often you need to understand the content of each project before building on that knowledge for the next project. Ask for help early to allow plenty of extra study time if you need it.

Use the "Check your answers" link below to check your own answers to the study questions for this project (including those in the book).
There is no need to send the answers to these questions or the Chapter Review Questions to me, however, let me know if you do not understand the answers that are given. The written questions for the midterm and final exams will often be taken directly from these study questions. Be sure you know the right answers!
Lab Activity (to be graded)
Complete the activity below and type the answers to the questions.
Send them in an email to the instructor.
Include a subject line with the project number, class number and your last name.
Example: CIS 151 - Your Name - Basics
I will only grade the answers to the LAB activity. (You should check your own answers to the self-check section of this project.)
When sending answers to questions, use plain text. Give short answers in your own words. Unless the question asks for a definition, do not copy and paste from Internet resources. Do NOT send your answers as an attachment.
This lab includes giving URLs in the answers. A URL must be accurate to be considered a correct answer. One typo in a URL will make it invalid. I must be able to click on the URL you send to go to the page.
When the correct page displays in the browser, the address bar will be displaying the URL for the file. You need to send me the URL so I can view the page using the Internet. An easy way to be sure that you send an accurate URL is to copy and paste the URL from the address bar to the message area of your student email.
To copy and paste the URL:
- copy (right-click on the URL that you see in the address bar, choose copy from the pop-up menu)
- paste (open your student email, in the message area, right-click, choose paste)
The URL should appear in the message area. I recommend sending the email to yourself or checking your SentMail folder to be sure that the URL you sent to me will work when you click on it.
- Be sure that each URL is on a line by itself without any other text
