As Rikjen hadnt been ridden in quite some time, added on to the fact that it was a wee bit chilly out, actual racing was not possible at the time these pictures were taken. Instead, the Fjord Jockey (me) braved the harsh winds, cold air, and the bucking, squealing Rikjen (who now has her winter coat and looks like a chia pet), snapped her ungrateful lil' piggie onto a lunge-line, and decided to do some training for both flat racing and steeplechase. Unfortunetly, there are no photos of me actually in action. We'll have pics of me falling off coming soon. :) -The Fjord Jockey (p.s., I dont always ride like that bareback. I didnt have a saddle and what kind of jockey would I be if my feet werent jacked way up? So, saddle or no saddle, I took the stance.)

As you can see by my atire, in fjord racing, we put safety first. I have no reins, no helmet, no flak jacket, but I do have goggles to protect myself against the sun's harmful UV rays...who needs all that other stuff? I'm not about image, I'm all about skill, baby. Other jockeys dont race for the sport....they race for the outer-wear. ;-)
The moose wouldnt keep her head still for any of the photos. Here she is looking rather mule-ish. As usual.
